Soy Crisps... may not be for everyone

OK let me start with this: I am a frigging webmaster, not a doctor, so follow my path with extreme caution. Now that the lawyers are satisfied: I have tried a few things that are (mainly) on my list of things I can eat post op. One thing I have noticed with anything grain or corn based (namely cheerios or grits), I notice that a little nibble goes down like an uncomfortable brick in my stomach. Well, let me tell ya, I purchased (on impulse) 2 things last night. One was an IPod Shuffle, the other was a bag of Genny's Soy Crisps (Apple Cinnamon). These things ROCK!!! They are crunch and basically break down in your mouth when you chew them well and no brick in the belly. I eat about 4 (s-l-o-w-l-y) and I am VERY satisfied and I feel like I chewed on something. Well, anyway, I hope this helps someone who is post op dying for something to chew on besides SF gum. Toodles.

I have to try that!! I don't understand why crackers and melba toast is okay to eat in pureed stage either. I'm like they are hard and dry, but it's on the list and I have had NO problems with crackers/melba toast. I'll get the soy crisps next because they have a variety of flavors. My problem this past week was drinking too close to my eating time, but I am doing better on that these last few days and am no longer regurgitating stuff back up. Yay! I agree, eating slowly is key, like one bite a minute or something. Thanks for sharing!!

I'm not sure in your area.... I live south of Atlanta and the Publix carries them in the "Health Food Section" (the one I used to hurry past). They have several soy products (and for me, the soy based stuff seems to go down much easier than any processed flour or corn product) The brand is Genny's and I know that online at Walgreens.com, they were on a HUGE sale (which I missed) for like 99 cents a bag. Good luck on your journey!
