Back To Work Temptations

I haven't seen much about anyone going back to work, so I thought I would describe a little about how my first week back went so everyone would know what to expect. Prior to going to work, I ate all meals at home and really didn't have to face serious temptation. My wife didn't cook much for her or the kids, just microwaved some frozen chicken tenders and bagel bites and stuff like that. Not that they didn't smell great, but I could handle it. At work, I had to start going out to lunch with my friends and it was interesting. I only ordered soup, and it was interesting the reaction of the waitors and waitresses. A 450lb man ordering a small bowl of soup??? They would try to ask me if I also wanted a salad or sandwich to go with it. Then it felt weird to take an hour and sometimes not even get half the soup down (if it was a big bowl!). I had one near-bad experience. I decided to branch out a little bit and get eggs for lunch. I had scrambled eggs (which I have eaten at home with no problem) and it also came with breakfast potatoes (I have also eaten mashed potatoes at home with no problem). I figured I would chew well and it was basically the same thing. I don't know whether I ate too fast or whether they were greasy or what, but I only had about 5 bites of the eggs and two small bites of the potatoes when it felt like everything was stuck and wouldn't go into my pouch. Then I got a hot flash and the beginnings of cotton mouth. I haven't thrown up yet, so I didn't know how bad this was going to get. I pictured myself turning inside out there at the table! After about 10 minutes, the feeling went away, but lunch was OVER for me! Then the ultimate temptation. Yesterday we had to work all day and night, so I ordered dinner for all my employees. We had about 30 pizzas delivered, and my admin decided to put them in the conference room right next to my office! I came back from a meeting to the most heavenly smell I have ever experienced! They had to chain me to my chair! Long story short, I am now looking for a new admin (just kidding!). Chris S.

Too funny Chris. I went back to work a few weeks ago and find it easier to deal with food here. At home I like to graze and snack at night. Here at work I can just sip protein drinks and water all day and that seems to keep my mind off food.
