Hi all, just an update... I had my surgery on Monday 3/21 and am doing great! Had my first post-op dr visit this Monday 3/28 and was down 15 lbs. (in one week! I can't hardly believe it) I'm still on Carnation Instant Breakfast (3xday) and clear liquids. My next dr appt is 4/4 and we'll see if I get to advance my diet. Still getting very full on the CIB so not sure if I'm ready to move to something with more substance just yet. I haven't had much pain, in fact I've not taken any pain meds since the morning after leaving the hospital. This has been such a positive experience, I can't figure out why I waited so long to pursue getting it done.

Toni, Congrats on doing so well. I had mine on 3/15 and have had about the same type experience as you. Do you know of a support group in our area? I'm in Wilson County. Susie

Hi, I had my surgery on 3-38-05. I have lost 8 pounds. There was nothing in my little diet booklet that I received about drinking CIB. It did say that I could have water, diet snapple, crystal light, decaffeinated tea, sugar free tang, diet v-8 juice, cream of rice, cream of wheat, malt o meal (must be thin and watey), sugar free jell-o and pudding, low fat low sugar yogurt aple sauce and broths. I gusess it depends on your surgeron but I am wondering if I can drink the CIB. My first follow-up visit is on 4-5-05. I am glad you are doing great. Jeannie
