discomfort on lt side

I had my surgery on March 9. I have had a lot of discomfort on my left side of my abdomen. They told me they may have bruised my liver..but it is still really sore...a lot better than it was. Has anyone else had this, and how long did it last. I want to go back to work, but Im afraid.... Sometimes it feels like a burning inside when I walk or stand too much..It seems to bother me more when I have gas or need to have a bowel movement.. sound familiar to anyone?????

Yes I have the same thing! Mine only seems to come after I have been standing or bending alot. I seem to get it after showering every day. It is kind of like cramps on the left side. I have read alot of people talking about it on the main message board so I am not too concerned about it. Kelly Z

Pam, I had my surgery 3/14, I too had the same pain for about a week. I asked my doctor, he felt around and said I'd pulled a muscle. He said I was compensating for my incision and getting out of bed, getting up, bending probably pulled it. I was careful getting up and twisting and put a heat pad on it a couple of times. It took about a day and it went away! It sounds just like what you have and once I knew what the pain was from, I was able to isolate it and 'fix' it. If you don't have a fever and redness, I wouldn't worry yet. I know it hurts/burns, but just take care for a couple of days and it will go away.
