Insision Leaking

I had my surgery on 3-14-05 Before I left the hospital the drain tube was removed . A week later I went to have every other staple removed, I almost arrived all the way home when I noticed the front of my shirt was soaked. I went into the house and called the cori center back up and told them what was going on. The nurse said not to worry. I told her the leaking was comming from my insision not where the drain tube was. Its now the second day and its still leaking? Have any of you had this?

My incision started to leak 8 days out. It's been a week and it looks like it finally may have stopped.

Sorry to hear about your leaking incision. I had my surgery the same day but I haven't had any problems with leaking. My surgeon bonds the incision so I didn't have any staples. The only stitches I had was from the Jackson Pratt drain which came out before I came home and the drain tube which is still in till Tuesday. My incision is doing this itching thing so I guess that is part of healing cause my sister had the same thing....that is a bit annyoying but oh so worth it!! Hope things work out well for you...

My incision started leaking 8 days out and today is still leaking a little. I too was very concerned but the nurse at the clinic told me that leaking is normal. I wish that I had known to expect it, but it took me totally by surprise. But, eventually it stops. ~Phia
