Is it normal to feel weak in the legs?
I am one week post-op and my legs have been feeling really weak when I walk... has anyone experienced the same thing and is it normal? Also, when I drink my water or have a little broth I feel like there are bubbles coming up from the bottom of my stomach? If anyone has any input on this let me know. Thank you everyone for all of the support and kind words I've received so far
Yes! Bonnie I am two weeks post-op and during my first week I had very weak legs when I walked more than five minutes. This is normal. Just keep walking a little more each day and they will strengthen. My legs didn't start to feel strong again until I increased my protein intake to >60 grams a day. I ordered some ready-made high protein drinks from www.bariatriceating.com.
i have felt good since surgery, but then i all of a sudden felt exhausted, and my legs felt like they weighed a million pounds. so i went to gnc and got these little b12 tablet things that you put under your tongue and they melt. i feel much better now. i also got the carmel chew things for calcium. awesome, along w/ my protein drinks and multivitamin.
as for the fizzy belly. i have that too. i take baby gass drops and it helps (surgeons suggestions.)
hope i helped ya out a little.
and hang in there!

Welcome to the wonderful world of post-op!
As for your legs, yep, feeling weak is normal. You just had major surgery and you need to take it easy. Walk often, but in short time spans, like 5 mins here, 3 mins there, et****il you are up to doing more. Don't over do it.
Bubbles = gas. I had rumbling in my tummy for 5 days post-op. Dr. rx'd some tagament and I also took gas-x (surgeon okayed for me to have it). That helps. But walking helps the most when it comes to gas.
Other than that, how are you feeling? Congrats on your surgery and surviving your first week post-op!
