Any Post-Ops experiencing This??

I have had an interesting change that I wondered if anyone else is having. My internal temperature has always run extremely hot, in other words, I have to have the air conditioning cranked up. I normally freeze out my poor wife. When I sleep I need our ceiling fan on and the A/C going. For the past several days, I have gotten too cold and we haven't had the ceiling fan on. Sounds like a minor thing, but my wife loves it as she has spent the last 10 years sleeping in sweatshirts and two comforters!! Also, I don't think I am sweating as much as I used to. I am just over two weeks post-op. Has anyone else noticed their internal temperature is changing? Chris S.

Hi Chris, I'm cold natured anyways, but I have read and heard that alot of WLS patients tend to be cold. Look at it this way, the electric bill will go down. lol Good Luck! Cathi

I'm post op also and before surgery often found myself having "hot " spells and sweats. I am only out 5 days now but have not experienced this since...weird eh!! Maybe it has something to do with the fluid diet. I'll continue to watch this and share any info. Stacey

Chris, I am experiencing this also! I've rarely been cold before, but now I am a lot. I'm not sure why -- it's a strange, but nice change. I wonder how it will be this spring/summer as the it gets hotter and more humid. The prospect of not sweating as much is exciting!! Gail

I too have been cold . No matter if I cover up or get up and move I still feel cold(mostly my feet). This is also very different for me since i have always been the household heater. Lisa H.

I hate winter and am always cold this time of year but I am freezing at times now. Hubby and me fight about the heat. I always want him to turn it up, I sit with 3 blankets on me and a small heater next to my bed. I think it is quite normal though! Good luck to you!

Yep...same here. I am actually wearing socks to bed because my feet are cold. I live in Upstate New York, near Buffalo, and I haven't worn socks all winter. After surgery, BRRRRR!!!!!

Chris, I actually am feeling the complete opposite. After I got out of surgery I was extremely hot! I had to have them put a fan in my hospital room and I have to sleep with a fan now or else I get too hot! My face and head seem to be hot all the time and I have had my temp taken- no fever! It is driving me nuts!

Hijack Hi Bonnie, I was reading your post about feeling warm and I was thinking, yeah, me too. Then I saw you were from San Diego, yeah me too. I checked out your profile and saw you had Dr. Mueller, yeah, me too! I followed you in to surgery 3 days later (St. Patrick's Day). I feel so fortunate to have had my surgery done by such a skilled doctor. I really think he's the greatest! I was surprised because I kept expecting the pain killers to wear off and be hit with a truck load of pain. It never happened though, Thank Goodness. Do you go to the support meetings at Sharp on the first Monday of the month? Maybe I'll meet up with you there sometime. Kathleen

Hello Kathleen! I am glad that I am not the only one experiencing this because when I was reading the different messages it seemed like I was the only one! I agree with you as far as Dr. Mueller goes... I think he is outstanding ! I have had a very positive experience with him and his office and I believe he cares about each patient individually for their health, success, and well-being! It really is nice to hear from someone that had the same surgeon and had the surgery in close proximity! I have not yet attended the support meetings, but plan to go to the next one on April 4th. I think it will be good for me... Maybe I will see you there! Have you gone to any of the support groups yet? Bonnie
