Does anyone know...
Ditto on the paranoid about getting sick, my surgery is on the 21st. The best thing to do is stay away from anyone who is sick and wash your hands obsessively. Everytime you touch something that someone else may have touch, wash your hands. And don't touch your face, especially eyes and nose, if at all possible. That is the best way to avoid getting sick.
Hi Stephanie,
I am having surgery on March 22nd and this past Friday woke up with a sinus infection! Went to my PCP that morning and she gave me the 5 day Zithromax. I told her how concerned I was about not being well for surgery and she said the best treatment is to drink LOTS of plain old water! So I have finished the meds and am constantly drinking water. So maybe, add water to your regimen and that might hold a cold at bay!
Good luck and hope to hear your surgery went well!
Take care,
Marty
Well, it's not really too healthy to be paranoid-that actually can reduce your immune system just like stress. Just try to take care of yourself and relax. My best defense from getting a cold has been taking in plenty of clear fluids and vitamin c, also echinacea and zinc is really helpful at preventing or getting over a cold too. Basically eat good stuff, sleep well, take vitamins, wash your hands often, limit exposure if possible, don't worry too much, and by doing all of these things you will be your best defense. Good luck on the 23rd!
