Liquids? Can you handle this?
Hey everyone, I am on the liquid diet right now, Surgery on March 29. I have to do a liquid diet for 2 weeks prior to surgery. Tell me, are you able to handle this? What is your favorite recipe. Right now I am drinking a Carnation Instant BF Carb Concious w/ a scoop of Unjury in it, and a bowl of Jello mixed with a scoop of Unjury. Total protein I am eating right now = 52. And you know what? Its all oh so good. I like this mix, I think I can handle this every morning until surgery date. Besides the day before, which is nothing but clear liquids.
Well I hope to hear from fellow marchers on this topic. So what are you eating today on your liquids? I know someones out there on them w/ me.
Luv you all,
Jessica
Hi Jessica. I am two weeks post op and the worst part for me was clear liquids. Jello, broth, popsicle. That was it. Every day for seven days. Now I am on full liquids so I am doing my Advocare protien shakes with a scoop of unjury in them mixing them with skim milk. So my protein drink for breakfast has 52 grams of protien in it. I can usually fit the rest in with soups and yogurts throughout the rest of the day.
Good luck with surgery!!!

You can check out advocare.com and they have vanilla, chocolate and berry. It is called a Meal Replacement Shake. Berry is my latest fave. I am a distributor so let me know if you can't order off the site. They do taste pretty good. I use choc and van for cookies and cream shakes. Add two sugar free chocolate sandwich cookies and a scoop of light cool whip and it is awesome. The berry is good by itself.
FYI I also take their childrens chewable vitamins twice a day. They are so bad either.

my date is the 22nd, I have been on a pre op liquid diet since the 8th. I love to make sugar free pudding, chocolate fudge is the best! I mix in ANy Whey protien powder. mmmmmm..... thank god for splenda!!!!! i hardly miss sugar. i am allowed three servings of cottage cheese or yogurt a day, so i eat that too. i mix my cottage cheese with different spices and herbs to make it different, that way i don't get sick of it. i hope everything goes well for you!! whenever you get hungry on this phase. just remember why you are doing this!!! good luck and best wishes!!!

Unjury is a protein powder, that doesn't have any taste to is, and you can mix it in with anything, and the flavor of the original liquid, soup, etc. is still there. I have also purchased the Nectar from Bariatric Eating.com too. They both are just a life saver during this whole phase for me, if it wasn't for the 2. I would be sick of other stuff. With these 2 I can mix them in my crystal lights, and they taste good... Mmmm. Hope that helps. also, Unjury has a website. www. unjury .com
Good Luck fellow marcher!
Hey Jessica I am a follow Marcher but i am post op I had my surgery March 3. I am currently coming off of clear liquids and to tell you the truth the first couple of days were ok like when i was in the hospital and i would say the first 5 days that i was home but once i started seeing my family eating and drinking it became very hard dont get me wrong i stuck with it but it was very rough and know your eating things that you would eat when you are on your full liquids stage. I had to do the same thing and its crazy becuase i was drinking chicken broth for dinner and lunch but after i came home and tried some of the same type of chicken broth it was so nasty and tastless and bland it like my taste bud had changed.
Right know i am 15days post op down 31 pds since surgery and i just started my full liquids yesterday and for me my dr. considers full liquids stuff like cream of wheat, grits, yogurt, carnation instant BF carb consciuos, cream soups, and basically anything you could drink through a straw stuff in that consistency. so far on my full liquids i have tried cream of wheat which was not to tasty, and plain non fat yogurt which was even worse. so i dont mean to sound down and make it seem likes it all very hard i just want to make sure that you know and just remember what happens for one person is totally different for another. I wish you all the luck on your surgery and before.

Hi Tyshea, I had my surgery March 8....down 14 pounds so far. Congratulations on your weight loss, 31 pounds in 15 days is awesome. I'm at the same stage as you seem to be with the yogurt, cream soups, etc. I'm finding it very difficult to keep on this part of the diet....I'm starving !! I think I miss crunching. I used to like chicken broth too, now I hate it, I used to hate yogurt, now I love it.....I can't figure myself out.... Right now I'm craving a sandwich from Arby's thanks to a commercial I just saw on tv. Anyway, best of luck to you, let me know how you are doing......Karen
