7 days POST OP
Hello to all. I had my surgery on Monday, March 7, 2005. I went in at 6:30 am, scared to death. But they took good care of me. I was put in the waiting area, IV put in and stuff. Then my husband came back to see me off to the operating room. When I got in the operating room, I was ok. I just remember them strapping my arms down and then the nurse put the oxygen mask on me and that was it. I woke up and boy was I in PAIN They put me in the recovery and did what they had to do. I was in my room within 2 hours. I was in alot of pain Well, they took care of me from there on. My doctor told me I had 3 hernia's when he opened me up. He repaired them, or whatever they do to hernia's. Thats why I was in so much pain. I can say this, the hospital beds they have for the Bariatric Patients are huge. So I was comfortable. When I got home on Friday, March 11 I couldn't sleep because everywhere I laid was uncomfortable. So I then had my girls make me a comfortable bed out of their bed they weren't to happy, but they soon got over it
I went to my first doctor's appointment this morning to get the staples out. I was scared, i thought it was going to hurt, but it didn't. Guess what????????? I got weighed and lost 11 pounds already I was so happy. So, I thank you to all those who sent prayers my way.
Love
Lisa
Lisa,
Congratulations on your surgery! I am going for mine on Wednesday and all along I was not scared. I have noticed that small things have been making me cry the past couple of days and I think it may be fear that I have pushed back in my mind. I was glad to see that although you had some pain you seemed in pretty good spirits only a week out and that makes me feel better, thanks!
