Finally It's done
Well, first of all you must be referring to this ill feeling for these fluids pre-op since it says you are scheduled for 3/23/05. Believe me it is definitely true when they say your tastes change drastically post-op. I had my surgery RNY on 3/1/05 and had some complications in the hospital with my breathing mainly. Once you get that tube out of your throat after you wake up the only thing you want is a drink of water. You cannot have one though till they make sure your procedure site is not leaking. I was on a breathing machine the entire day after my surgery and overnight and my mouth was so dry I thought I would die. If you ever have to go through anything like that you will learn to love the taste of water. Also, I can barely stomach the sugar free stuff now because it tastes too terribly sweet. I used to be a sweet tooth and loved everything with sugar even hated to use artificial sweetener in my tea before, but now the sugar free stuff tastes even sweeter than real sugar to me since I had the surgery. So, just remember that what you like or don't like now is not necessarily what you will want after the surgery. Hope that helps. Good luck!
