Anyone who had the surgery already, I just got home from hospital, and i don't feel hungry at all. But all i'm allowed to eat is jello, juice, chicken broth, and water. I try but after first couple of bites of sips, I feel scared and don't want to eat any more. Is that normal? Anyone has any good suggestions. I also need to get the Carnation Instant Breakfast Protein shakes, but I didn't find any that are Sugar free. Anyone please help me? This is frustrating...

Hey...sorry you are having such a bad time! I haven't had my surgery yet, but if you post this same message on the regular messageboard, then you will probably get lots of responses and help. Hope you feel better soon! Terribelle

Maricelis, Congrats on your surgery! I just had mine on Wed. and I feel great. In regards to your protein question, I dedided to use Isopure whey protien. It has 50 grams perserving and it tastes pretty good. It also has all your vitamins as well as added glutamine. This helps alot with recovery. You could also go to www.bariatricadvantage.com and order the nutra recipes. they come in chocolate and vanilla. Yes you will have to work at getting your protien in. I do. Troy

Sounds alot like my diet. My Dr doesnt require protien supplements until after diet advancement to full liquids. I found that I was so so scared and the thing that relieved it for me was sugar free popcicles (how the heck do you spell that??) I have been eating about 6 or more of them a day since my nurse turned me onto them in the hospital. I think what you are doing is completely normal and it does get better. It has for me! Now I worry that all this drinking is too too easy and that I'm getting in a hurry. Amy
