Question on protein drinks
The best and most quickly absorbable protein drinks are made with whey protein. Soy is different, I believe, but I could be wrong. You might get some samples - vitalady dot com sells samples for a pretty low price, might be some kind you like. Be aware that most folks say your taste buds change after surgery and what you like now you might not like then. I hope I still like the ones I got as I purchased about 5 different flavors that I REALLY like now. SciFit Strawberry White Mocha, IDS Vanilla Cinnamon, Champion Whey Stack Chocolate (tastes good with warm water - like a hot cocoa), and I also like Orange Dreamsicle by ProPlete, I think it is. My old standby from years ago was ProBlend 55 Strawberry and their Vanilla, as well. DPS nutrition was also a good spot to look with decent prices, but, I definitely recommend trying out flavors/samples. Oh, another type I hear a lot about are the "Nectars" kinds (more like juices than shakes) and also Isopure ZeroCarb bottled protein drinks that are available at GNC. I have yet to try those.
Good luck!

As a post op may I offer a bit of advise in that you don't want to go out and spend a ton of money on protein drinks prior to surgery. Your taste will change and what sounds and tastes good now, may not in the future. I suggest getting samples and seeing what works for you after you have your surgery. I ended up giving away to large containers of mix at my support group because I just couldn't stand the taste after surgery.
Best of luck.
