I have a date

Hi everyone, I have been reading all the posts and am truley amazed at all the wonderful successes and the support I have found here. I am realitively new to the site and am still exploring and figuring out some of the lingo. My surgery date is March 1, 2005 for a RNY praying for laproscopic but my surgeon feels there is a chance he will have to do it open. I am working extra hard on losing some weight prior to my pre op appt on Feb. 17. Surgeon said if I gained even 1ounce he would postpone the surgery. I am nervous as heck about the possibikity of weight gain. I am eating less then the 1800 cal. they want me to eat, I have got rid of all temptation in my home and I am walking 30 -45 minutes every day. Due to arthritis in my knees and back currently the extra weight I carry makes it extremely difficult to do much more than that. I pray that after the surgery and the pounds come off I will be able to tolerate more exercise. I am so glad I was led to this site and hope in the future that if I am unsure of what to do or what is happening I can turn to you for guidence. I will keep all of you in my prayers as you get closer to your surgery dates. Julie preop
