I Finally have a Date, WOW!!!

Just wanted to let everyone know I have a date. March 1st, 2005, but let me tell you, I am really nervous. I waited so much for the insurance to approve my surgery and now I'm so confused. I'm having mixed feelings. Can you guys talk to me.. hopefully it will make me feel much better. Maybe I'm just nervous. Well, I will start praying. Talk to you guys later.

Maricelis, I too was in your position last July. I went for a first meeting with the surgeon and gave the office my ins stuff but thought I would have plenty of time to think since alot of people here were talking about how long and the struggles they were having getting approved. Well I was shocked when they called a week later and said your approved when do you want to do it! I put the brakes on and said nope this isnt for me. After that I did alot of soul searching and read both of Carnie Wilsons books, they are great and have alot of good info, and another book I got off Ebay Exodus from Obesity by an RN who had the surgery as well. After that reading I was at peace with myself and knew I was making the right decision. Of course coming here everyday and getting comfort and info helps as well. So by the time I decided it was for me I had to get re-approved in Jan since the plan at my work had changed. No problem approved in a week and no stopping me now. So my suggestion to you is to seek knowlege and you will find your answer and what is right for you. I wish you the best of luck! Sharon

Congrats on your surgery date! I have mine on March 24, 05. I am having Open RNY. Don't be nervous, God is the almighty physician and He will take care of u. God Bless Angela
