Thanks so much, Marilyn, for your kind words! I wish you the best of luck in your job search! We are very fortunate that the job market stays strong in our area due to the federal government.
Hang in there!

Happy Anniversary on both Karen- Hope your husbands surgeries go well & recovers quickly.
Here's hoping you get the help you need on the job front. I have been looking for work again
as I am still unemployed year & half later. Put off looking for sometime, but now out everyday looking for something. Even Jacl-in-the-box & McDonald at this point.
All the best to you & Hubby

Topic: Today is my surgiversary
Six years later: the scale says I am 165, down from 362 on the a.m. of my surgery. My struggles are with sugar but otherwise I eat mindfully, and make good choices for my meals; I am active, with my passion being learning to ride and using my body effectively as I gain more knowledge and skill in the discipline of dressage. And it takes an athlete's mind set to even come close to being successful... I didn't know how difficult it was! My horse, Laela, is my passion. What a gift, what a blessing to have a body that is able to ride. I have come to terms with the fact that my lowest weight (138 - for all of 5 minutes!) was the direct result of starvation. That really is what to body goes through after gastric bypass. We are eating so little in the way of food for nearly 2 years, that the weight just melts off. It only stands to reason that once we are able to eat more normally, we will gain weight and then stabilize there so long as we eat healthily and work out regularly. I do this - but my demon is sugar. Today, I am sugar-free. What a difference it makes in being able to think clearly. I will do this, one day at a time. My ultimate goal is to get back to 150, a very healthy weight for me, I think. My ultimate commitment is to health, strength, and fitness. I am stronger than my cravings. Just for today. I have let go of all the yesterdays, and I will not think about tomorrow. I have this day to take care of myself - and so I shall. If I haven't said it well enough or often enough, thank you all for being here these past more than 6 years. I wish you continued health and wellness in the utmost spirit of support and friendship. Your Reenie
