Sorry to hear about you gallbladder incident...I had to have mine out as well a few years back. I was getting these awful pains thought I was having a heart attack but turns out mine was not functioning right. I didnt have stones or anything like that it was just not working right. I hear its more and more common with wls patients and alot of doctors are just taking them out when they perform the intial wls. Anyway glad mines gone havent had any other problems at all.
As for my weight...Im still the same...up and down the same old five pounds. Im not complaing one bit!!! Im still eating pretty decent, I never did eat alot of junk, but on occasion I may I dont really worry about it, I try to keep everything in moderation and it seems to be working.
It stinks they board has fallen apart...I check in to see if anyone posts, but looks like everyone has flown the coup. I will though continue to post on occasion and look for others to do so as well....glad you did!!! Dont be a stranger ...I wont be either and again CONGRATULATIONS on becoming a GRANDMOTHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kimberly...
hope all of you are well.
if any are reading i'd love to hear how you all are. just a one line doing good or bad or indifferent would be great,
i'm sure most of you like myself are curious. i've not checked into our forum for many months due to computer issues plus gall bladder and many other life things.
so how are you all?
my stats
weight at surgery 300ish
lowest weight after 156
weight maintained the longest 167
current weight 178
smallest size after weight loss - i got down to a 6 omg i loved that!
size now 14 arggggg i hate writting that! if i worked out more the size would be lower. i hadn't worked out in over a year. i'm back to it now for one month.
i had gained some weight back and had gotten up to 185 that was very depressing but this last year i worked through health issues - major low blood sugar, now under control with diet and excersize, gall bladder surgery
i feel pretty good but would like to get up off my butt and excersize more.
right now i walk minimum 20 minutes a day. ive read how if women my age do that they will see a change in weight and clothing without changing any of their diet. hey i figure it can't hurt!
all in all i feel good.
i remind myself every day that i am no longer 300 pounds. that while i am alittle over weight i am still normal sized. i meet peolple every day who did not know me as the big pam they do not know i had surgery. its been so long since then that i forget myself sometimes! so why tell the story? if weight comes up i do volunteer.
life is changes. we've had a major one. we all handle it differently.
i feel blessed to be right where i am right now.
good luck and god bless to you all i hope to come back to this site in a few days and read some postings from some old dear friends who i've not heard from in a long time.
she is adorable.
tiny little love bucket.
Lillian Chase is her name. she is named after my mother who is 90 and over the moon over this small addition to our family.
as most of you know we who have had gastric by pass are prone to gall bladder issues.
i started with mine about 5 months ago with a nasty attack of very bad pain when i was at work.
one of my co workers took me to the ER and they did several tests that didn't say what the probmel was but i had my suspicions,
i went with their recommendations to my gastric surgeon who said well from the tests its hard to say if its a real gall bladder issue lets see if you get anoth rone if you do we'll do some more tests,.
guess what? i got another one! this one was about a month after the first. it hit me very fast. without any warning,.
i had left work and was heading home with out any issues. i work in new london and live in colchester which is abut 30 minutes away. half way home in salem i got hit with pain tht was so sever i could not drive. i pulled into a restaurant parking lot and staggered into the place they called 911 and i was on my way to the ER again.
they did some more tests then again told me to call my surgeon.
went to see him and had more tests.
i do believe they needed to make some car payments or something thats why tjey did the stupid tests!
anyways had the surgery and now feel great.
at first i blamed the gastric then i found out that its not only just us who have had the surgey who have gall bladder issues. its anyone who for any reason has lost alot of weight. even if you did it without surgery!
that mademe feel better.
plus i found out if you have had family members who have had issues tht you could too. my sister had hers out 30 years ago. so that probalby al contributed to the mix.
either way they push youout of the hospital way to quick. i was in and out. because of past surgerys like the gastic and my 3 c-sectoins they had a bunch of things to clean up so of course my scars are not the little one inch things they were suppose to be!
I've not checked in here for a very long time. not that many of us post anymore. seems like we've fallen like the other groups who are so far out even though all of us had sworn not to. hey i'm not putting anyone down for it its all part of life.
i have some news! im a first time grandmother! my granddaugfhter was born one week ago and is adorable already she has me wrapped around that little finger.
O and weeks ago i had my gall bladder out! Did you know that we are prone to having gall bladder issues after our surgry? well i was one of them! it was pretty nasty and i'm glad that its out. now i can eat food again! i did lose 10 pounds between being sick and having several nasty attacks and surgry but now tht i am able to eat again have gained half of tht back. arggggg
all in all i feel pretty good.
the low blood sugar is under control with diet and excersize.
hope all is well with you.
Its getting close to Thanksgiving time..woohoo...eat wisely and be thankful for another year..stay healthy and I wish you all the best! See-ya in Dec!

Wanted to know if anyone has heard of this or had it done?
Rose Procedure
A new, less invasive surgical option is now available to treat weight regain in gastric
bypass patients. If you were originally successful with your bypass surgery but now find
yourself regaining some of your lost weight, you may be a candidate for the ROSE
procedure (Restorative Obesity Surgery, Endolumenal).
Your stomach pouch or stoma (the connection between the pouch and small intestine)
may have stretched out in the years since your original surgery, reducing the feeling of
fullness after you eat.
To resolve this problem, surgeons use new surgical tools to create and suture folds into
the pouch, reducing its volume and at the stoma to decrease its diameter. The surgeon
performs the procedure entirely through the mouth without making any external incisions
into the body.
Due to the lack of external incisions, the ROSE procedure is expected to provide
important advantages, including less risk than traditional open or laparoscopic surgery,
minimal postoperative pain, fast recovery time, and no scarring.
Keeping your weight down after gastric bypass is vital to improve your health and reduce
the co-morbidities associated with obesity such as Type diabetes, heart disease, joint
disease, and respiratory conditions. If you have started to regain weight since your initial
surgery, ask your surgeon if the ROSE procedure might be right for you.
