Too Healthy??
Well Gang.....I've got a strange one for you!!
A few months ago, I had one of my lower molars extracted by an oral surgeon because one of the roots was fractured and infected. Because of the fracture, root canal was not an option. After the tooth was extracted, I opted for a dental implant rather than a bridge to replace the tooth. For those of you not familiar with implants, what the surgeon does is drill into the jawbone and screw in a titanium implant which will anchor a crown to replace the missing tooth. My oral surgeon is fairly conservative, so he waits a few months after the implant to give the bone a chance to heal and incorporate the implant. I went in last Tuesday to have the implant uncovered. Well, when he cut open the gum to expose the implant, he was shocked to find that not only did the bone heal beautifully and incorporate the implant, but the bone actually grew back to where it totally covered the top of the implant!! As a result, he had to do a lot of digging, filing, and grinding of the bone to uncover the implant and prepare the area to receive the crown when I go back to my dentist!! Needless to say, I've been in some serious discomfort this week!! While sitting around feeling sorry for myself, I had a sudden inspiration........I must be pretty damn healthy if my bone heals like that!! I don't think that I have any serious malabsorption issues or calcium deficiencies if I'm producing bone in this quantity. The surgeon said that having the bone grow this way is while not unheard of.....certainly unusual. I guess that there really is a silver lining for every dark cloud!!

Hey It doesn't sound like much fun at all, but, I would have to agree
You must be getting more than enough calcium in you diet these days
for that to happen & so quickly. Hope you feel better soon! & don't
have to deal with that again.
Hope it gave you a couple days off work at least!! You like a few others on this board Work TOO HARD.
