Back On Track

I started to the "Back On Track" program at my doctor's office two weeks ago. It's a six week program. I've told y'all about it. The first week I lost 1 1/2 pounds, then last Wed. night I had lost 5 1/2 pounds!! The program is like when we first had surgery. No sugar or sugar subsitutes , no bread, no fruits and very few vegetables. We are eating mostly protein and about 50 carbs a day. Next week we will add a few more carbs and start on some kind of a maintance program. We have an exercise program, too. I'm not setting a goal I can't reach . I hope to lose 45 pounds total. I'm setting my goal to do this in 6 months. So, I've only got 38 more to lose !!!! WELLLLLLLLLL, it's better than 45 !! Y'all have a Great week end. Judy

Judy, That's fantastic! Do they give you a particular planned diet or do they just tell you no sugar, etc? I think I'm going to start that and see what happens. I've been good about protein, but I'm eating too many carbs in the way of rice and potatoes. I'm also eating my weight in fruit so I need to cut that out. Connie

They gave us a list of poteins " chicken, tuna, salmon, ground beef, bacon, shrimp, lobster, ham, veal and turkey." We're not supposted to drink any milk for the 14 days. We can have " cottage cheese, cream cheese, cheddar cheese ,mozzarella cheese, swiss cheese, parmesan cheese, heavy cream, eggs and egg substitute." We can have "celery, cucumber, lettuce, mushrooms, green peppers, radishes, zucchini , onions, broccoli, aspapagus, tomato , green beans and carrots." We can have regular salad dressing, olive oil, mayonnaise, salsa & soaghetti sauce. NO bread ,pasta, crackers, sugar or sugar substitutes. You need eat 3 meals and two snacks a day. You need to eat every 4 hours. You can have NO MORE than 10 carbs at a meal or a snack. Drink 64 ozs. of water, if you're a diabetic drink 120 oz. I've been doing this a week and a half and I feel the best I have in a year !! I know it's leaving off carbs. I don't get hungry and sometimes I forget to eat !!! This is a first !! I still want something sweet when I smell it or see it , but I have not had any in one and one half weeks now. I'm a school food service manager and one day last week my staff was cooking choc. chip cookies for a field trip and another one of them was making home made rolls and another one of them was baking a jello cake. I've never eaten of that kind of cake. She make the cake and let it cook and then poured jello over it and put it in the frig and the next day she put cool whip on top of it. I was in my office but I could smell all that stuff and I wanted it so bad !!! School will be out May 25th and maybe not being around that stuff I can stay on the "Back On Track" program easier . Pray I make it till then !!! Judy
