Weekend Update

Hi All, I just wanted to shout out a big "THANK YOU" for your unwavering support as I go through divorce hell. I kind of hijacked Reenie's "Quote for the day" post, and got some really great advice from y'all. Just an update - - - I made it through the big move just fine. I think that the build up was far worse than the outcome. My soon to be ex moved his stuff out of the house on Saturday. Since his departure, I have rearranged the house and truly put my personal stamp on it. I have never felt so free in my entire life. It's like I've had a 275 pound tumor removed from my back and I can now dance and sing and feel free to just be happy. It's just so wonderful not to go through the day with anger, bitterness and resentment looking me in the face. My girls (3 and 10) seem to be handling it all very well. I turned their daddy's office into a play room and I'm loving the fact that there aren't toys and kid paraphenalia all over my living room. I currently have the house on the market, and interest has peaked since the beginning of spring. I'm hoping that we get an offer soon and I can really move on with the next chapter of my life. The divorce isn't final yet. My soon to be ex has been unemployed since October of last year so figuring child support is out of the question. Instead of going to court for the divorce and then going back to court to decide child support, we've opted to do the "2 for 1 special" and wrap everything up with a nice pink bow. So - hopefully his lazy ass will find a job now that he's living w/ his mommy. I'm also actively looking for full time employment. In the meantime, my wonderful parents have offered to help me out as I try to keep the house afloat until it sells. Anyway, I'm good. No, I'm great. I have finally realized who my true friends and supporters are. I thank you again for your love, thoughts, prayers, cyber hugs and friendship. I love this board. I thank you again for everything. I was truly touched that so many of you stepped up when I needed you most. I know that I can always come here for a strong sense of family. Big hugs to everyone. -Wendy P.S. If anyone wants to come down to Houston for a visit, I have plenty of room for you!

Hey Wendy Good for You!! Yes, you may have still some ups & downs But being without the constant stress is well worth it all. My ex boyfriend actually showed up onmy doorstep at 6:00 a.m the other day crying that his life just sucks & could he stay with me just for a little while. What part of NOOOOO do you not get!!! It was not my problem that he chose to live in a motel that costs him 165.oo a week. Not my problem, that he does not have enough money to survive. I am doing everything I can to get my life turned around & sure as heck do not need him back in it to mess things up again. Hang tough & I no you & your girls will be just fine!! If I could afford it, I would come to Texas for a visit. Never been there!! But will have to wait since this is only my 2nd week on the new job. Maybe next year. Hope you can sell the house quickly!! WOW....that was so uplifting to read! I'm so glad you're handling things the way you are. You are a strong, tough lady and don't forget that you deserve ONLY the best! I never believed in that 'staying together for the kids' theory. I think children need to see real love and real happiness in order for them to experience it and appreciate it. You are doing the right thing....and keep up the GREAT work! Hugs, Joanie

Wendy, how are you doing? I'm trying to get as many Marchers 2004 folks as possible to post a four-year anniversary update. Listen, those of us still active on the board are all struggling and we need each other to figure out how to keep this weight off! Please post and let us know how you're doing. Hope to hear from you soon. Maureen
