6 year Anniversary

Today makes 6 years.  I lost 108 pounds initially - that was too skinny and intentionally gained back 10 - then added an additional 5 (unintentional) and have stayed that weight since.  I went from a size 26 to a size 6 and actually wear out clothes rather than out grow them a very unique experience for me as an adult. 

Health - lots of issues - most of them caused by being so overweight for 20 years.  LBS and my ulcer are directly related to the WLS.   I had a heart attack a little over a year ago and that has made things very interesting. 

Even with all the health issues - they are easier to deal with at this size than they would have been at my heaviest.

Happy anniversary, Va - so good to see you this snowy morning in Connecticut. Are you under good doctor's care for your ulcer and LBS? I worry especially about the ulcer and I'm sure you know that can turn very serious very quickly; hopefully that won't happen but if it does you need to be seen by someone well versed in the R-en-Y. How are you managing the ulcer currently? You have always been so much a part of this Board, please stay in touch and let us know how things are going for you - was it a mild heart attack, did you have to have surgery? I'm finally seeing an endocrinologist on Friday for my LBS.  The ulcer is an ongoing thing.  It will be fine for months, then get fussy and become a real problem.  Right now it's fussy.  I take prescription prilosec twice a day every day for it but times like these I have to stay away from spicy and tomato based products.  I see my WLS in about 10 days for a followup. 

The heart attack caused damage but currently I'm not a candidate for surgery.  I have 3 leaking valves the aortic is 30% and the other two are minor.   So for right now I'm just being monitored and medicated.

My most recent excitement was falling over my golden retriever in the dark the other night and wrecking my bad knee again.  I had an MRI yesterday and  I see the ortho doc for that tomorrow. 

Anyway I'm glad for blue skies and sunshine today...It's gorgeous today.  .Oklahoma has had it's worst winter on record this year - February had 24 days with no sunshine...that has a tendency to make people a bit grumpy.
