Plans for my Holidays - What About You???
Jillian will be home in an hour! I haven't seen her in more than 4 months... I have two more work days and then off for 10 days, yippee!! I've made some medical plans, I want to nip this weight gain in the bud right now so I need to know what's going on with my innards. On 12/28, I have a barium swallow scheduled; it will determine how fast whatever I am ingesting is going through the pouch and stoma. On 12/30, I will be scoped to determine the size of my pouch and stoma, and also to check for any ulcers, perforations, anything abnormal. Once I am armed with that information (results) I'll figure out what to do next. What I have learned mostly from becoming active on the Main Board, where there are all sorts of people from all sorts of backgrounds and each opting for different types of surgeries - I don't have to simply accept my cir****tances - and I've got plenty of fight left in me! Otherwise, I'm healing from a fractured rib and man, is that ever painful! I don't do down-for-the-count real well - stay safe, friends, enjoy the snow! Kim, I can't wait to see Ollie romping in it - it's comin', that's for sure! Be well, all - Love ya, Maureen

I've been out of town and just now read this. Are you having trouble other than gaining weight?
What are you going to do? Would you do some kind of new WLS? I'm just wondering what you are thinking about doing. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas! Love ya, Judy

God has given me this day to use as I will. I can waste it or use it for good. Today is very imporant, because I'm exchaning a day of my life for it.
Hi Judy! I hope you had a fantastic Christmas and are gearing up for a wonderful New Year! My diabetes has returned - or at least my PCP thinks so, we'll have to test again in a few weeks. So the weight gain and return of co-morbidities is alarm enough for me to consider a revision of some sort. There are not many revision options for people who originally had RNY - I certainly won't go the DS route, that surgery is rediculous in terms of malabsorption and what you have to eat to get the nutrients in. I don't know what I'll do - for now, all I know for sure is I'm going to fight this until there is no fight left in me! How are you doing, sweetie? Love, Maureen
