Losing Weight

Good morning, friends. I'm back in the 150s - 159 this a.m. (down from 164.5 2 days ago). Haven't had an M&M in about a week; start my day with organic oatmeal and strawberries, no milk, no sugar; have a reasonable lunch, heavy on protein and veggies; and a protein shake for dinner. Daily calories coming in at under 1,000 and I know this is too little but I'm sick of feeling like sludge through a clogged pipe. What I am eating is very healthy - and I'm working out again on my lunch hour, and riding almost every night. My long-range goal is 145 - but my immediate goal is One Day at a Time... I feel better. I so wish for us all to feel good! Blessings to you all, Maureen

I honestly cannot remember the last time I had a protein shake.  I weigh about what you do now...around 158 or so...and I also would like to be 145, but I don't see it happening.  Everytime I think about what I ate when I was 145...or how little I ate....I just can't picture it.

Feeling better is the main thing, and honestly, I feel pretty good.  I'm not saying I don't have my tired days, but pretty good for the most part.  As you said...and it's true....one day at a time!

Take care,
Joanie

I should call them very healthy Smoothies instead of protein shakes - I add really good stuff, Joanie - fresh fruit (whatever I have on hand), yogurt, wheat germ, and I grind up my calcium horse pill so that I absorb all of it. This with a scoop of protein powder, ice, a smidge of water- and it's more the consistency of ice cream rather than a liquid shake - and just as delicious! I find that if I have this at night, I am much less likely to graze, which I did quite a bit of before I switched my strategy. I eat pretty well throughout the day (with the exception of the M&Ms - but I've gone a week without those little devils!), but the night time grazing turned into a horrible habit. I won't do this forever, I just want to replace these bad habits with healthy ones - so far, so good! Thanks for your great reply, I'm glad you're feeling good - but I sure commisserate with the feeling tired - be well, Maureen

It does sound delish....I should drag out my blender.  I'm not much of a grazer...I think it's because I'm not a big TV person....and I like to get to bed fairly early (can't eat in your sleep!). But I remember when I was 145 and I know exactly what I ate each day....WELL under 1000 calories...as I would love to be that weight again, I just don't see it in the cards....

Good luck and keep us posted!
