When are you hungry?
Yeah it is really weird how we are different yet there are people who have had wls that are definitely in the same ball court whether it be low blood sugar, anemic or sever hunger pains. They are the typical side effects. And when we had surgery, its very strange but there is some odd connection. Yeah, it is hard to explain the hunger to a normal doc that just doesn't get it. Fortunately mine has seen many wls patients and can understand the side effects. The revision surgeons are more adept to that knowledge of course since they see direct reasons for weight gain in so many, but I explained that. What I take for my hunger is not what another would be able to. It's very much based on the individual and their overall health and whether they can take a ceratin medication or not. But I'll email you Maryiln and Maureen. I think the best bet though is to just ask the docs. I know my insurance covers Meridian and Xenical and others (I have Aetna) those type of meds... but each have certain side effects or may interact with other medications someone may be taking for various different illnesses. Again, we're not talking miracle pill by any means. In fact I was sitting here and was very hungry. Of course it's lunch time, but I know that when I eat, I'll be ok afterwards and not ravenous before and after. It's a normal hungry maybe a little stronger than yesterday, but still along the lines of normal. It won't stop me from eating bad foods, but that darned ravenous (taking over my entire mind) hunger is no longer there. I still have my food issues, but without that stupid hunger, it's much more managable.
