Hyperparathyroidism
Connie, has your doctor looked into this (and Marilyn) - first sign is back pain, can become crippling. Caused by accute deficiency of Vitamin D, which causes the thyroid gland to produce an excessive amount of something or other (can't remember) in order to compensate for the lack of Vit D in the system. The medical articles I've looked at today all point to moderate to severe deficiencies in Vitamin D and Calicium from studies of 5-year plus post-gastric bypass surgery. We MUST supplement Vitamin D, daily - and Calcium Citrate - daily. Otherwise, expect your bones to start breaking in another 5 years - Connie, Marilyn - what do your doctors say about this? Love you, Maureen
Yeeeeep...Vit D very important been saying that for sometime now....mine was a severe low (7)...got it up to about 65 now and am feeling much relief., no more aches and pains in my bones and also my last dental check up was a breeze....but on that note...you must take the DRY FORM of Vit D to absorb it properly...we dont absord the gell form very well at all, if any. I was and am faithful about taking my vitamins daily but appariently it wasnt enough...but Im good now I take 50,000 3 times a week of Vit D...and iron, multi vitamins, and get my B-12 shots monthly....so far so good now. Take you Vitamins ( D dry form and calcium citrate)...and iron supplement with multi vit...DAILY... and get yourself checked periodically...its IMPORTANT!
