please forgit my spelling and typing today. i've not had alot of sleep last night due to a wonderful concert but i had things i needed to say about the new endoronologist i saw yesterday.
my homeopathic doc sent me to him because of my thyroid. its enlarged nothing major but i need to be on something stronger than the homeopathic meds she had given to me. thats one thing i really like about her she'll try the homeopathic stuff and if its not working she'll have you go to someoen stronger.
we also talked about the high blood sugar.
i'm doing things good with a few things he'd like to see tweaked.
like my wheat thins addiction. gotta cut those he said that i feel good now if i can get rid of those i'll feel great.
the whole wheat bread that i have once a day he said that if its not bothering me its ok but he felt that it is just useless calories that since i am trying to lose weight along with keeping my LBS under control then thats another uless calorie.
he also gave me a list of things he considers good foods and told me it is basivally the same things he tells his diabeties patients to eat. boy i tell you if i had to have this i'm glad i had it after surgery cause i'd never be able to stick to the diabeties diet before surgery.
we discussed why i thought that i had shook things up with my body. the laxatives daily for a month.
he said that while that got things shook up yes that this was not totally brought on by that. He said that the gastric by pass is the culpert.
now it could be that i would have had symtoms that woudl not have been as bad so in a way yes it was kicked up by it but it was there and was going to give me problems.
now that its here its here to stay.
i'm going to have to eat like this forever or suffer the side effects.
while he does not have the problem he says he understands because of his diabete patients who if they should get a low blood sugar drop they tell him it feels like they are dieing.
i get it. i really thought i was dieing.
so with the thyroid i've got a pill i'm to take gonna start that this week.
i'm not a big pill person i'm so afraid to take things becasue of how i react and all of my allergies to different medications but he assures me that this should be fine. he's giving me something that does not have dyes in it or fillers.
he did more blood work and is having me go on 1/2 pill a day to start for a week then on to a full pill a day after that. in a month i go back for more blood work and to discuss how things are going.
he did say that this medication might actually help the LBS alittle bit. its all a horomoal thing which i do not totally understand but as long as they do and i get better i'm listening!
all in all was a good visit he seems like a good doctor in that he listens and answers questions the way i need them answered so that i understand.
he also laughed at my jokes. personality is always a plus.

Hi Pam, I'm glad you're on top of this. And yes, I absolutely agree with your Endocronologist in suggesting that your LBS episodes are a direct result of the surgery; it's what I tried to convey several months ago to the Board - I believe Nick was going through episodes that were so severe that she blacked out once - but my posts were met with resistence. The issues that you and Connie are sharing may be anecdotal but they point to serious consequences from this surgery. I believe we are all at risk for medical complications that the industry is not prepared - or willing - to deal with (financial considerations - money always rules...). I just want you to be ok. And Connie. And the rest of us. And if there are problems, I want to know what they are and what I can do to fix them. I've been away a long time and I'll post later - but just want to say hang in there. Be well, my friend. M.

Hi Reenie,

Its good to see you back posting! You've been gone a long time.
I'm not sure if you had read it but in my posting I've mentioned several times that I've always had hypogloximia in a mild form. So the surgery did not cause this issue. It was already there. So for me a small combination of the laxatives plus the surgery kicked it up into high gear. I can't speak for Nick. Or for anyone else.
what I do do is listen to what everyone has to say think it through then go with what my medical professional advises if it all makes sense to me.
Dr a and his dieticain did not make sense so I kept going until I find the one who does. and who helps me.
While I believe that the doc's are highly educated and know more than any of us will ever know they do not know everything about us as individuals. Thats up to us to make the decisison of what works for each of us. as individuals.
weigh and measure. Not only with food but with postings.
weigh and measure not only with the consequences from the surgery but the consequences without the surgery.
We all know the issues that are there. we all know that we need to question things. something that is normal for someone without the surgery isn't for us. We all know we need to be treated medically in different ways. Your reminders are helpful.
I appreciate your caring. You are a very caring individual. I appreicate your wanting to fix the issues and I appreciate your thought provoking information more and then letting us go to make our discisions ourselves. Becasue ultimately we are the ones who have to be happy with whatever decisions we make.
I'm happy with mine.
Hope all is well with you and your family.
