FRUSTRATED!

OK! I lost 15 pounds and now I am totally stuck. I'm at a plateau and so frustrated because I am sticking to the diet and my diet is very minimal and I've upped my exercise just a bit and have been eating very very low calorie high vitamin veggie etc... meals. Fruit and veggies mostly and my protein drinks and my vitamins and my water. I was a bit uh... backed up a little so I know thats added to the issue a bit. I remember going through plateaus as I lost the bulk of my weight in the past. They were so frustrating. I'm hoping that is all that it is and eventually I'll loose this week. I'm behind my 5 pound mini-goal i've set for myself!!! ah well... I think I'll start eating more grapefruit and reduce the sugary fruits. I've been eating pears which are almost 100 calories each! and papaya which i'm sure is at least 100 calories. So i suppose too much fruit maybe? Well grapefruit helps kick start things so I'll eat one of those today. But its so frustrating to be sticking to the diet and then not loosing.

As for any oopses I've made... just 2. I had a small ice cream with my 2 year old and 2 very small pieces of chocolate. Thats it. those were the only oopses I had which was on the weekend and only once. I've still been sticking with no carbs (bread) i have though been eating potatoes though...so unless its fruit or veggies no carbs  as in pasta and breads and sweets and junk well just checking in and hope everyone is doing well today!! ((Hugs!!))

Ok, 'lizbet, listen up - your body is going HUH??? What are you doing? Your body is in stall mode waiting for things to shift back to taking in more concentrated (fat) calories so that your system can get back to doing the   -- I remember those plateaus and what worked for me was to shake things up! Try going a day without any protein at all - just fruit and veggies; or a day with nothing at all but protein - but just one day! Just to shake your body awake and tell it that you're the boss, you're directing this show... lots and lots and lots of water! Keep moving! If you do these things, you have to keep losing. Ok? Don't give in!! Your mind is looking for an excuse to FAIL!!! Don't, don't, don't give in.  Dear God, please lead my wonderful, beautiful friend Elizabeth past this momentary, singular hurdle... Love you, sweetheart. Maureen

Thanks you guys, I defnintely needed that. Aw Pammie thanks! I just wish I could've lost more when I was supposed to. I'm really getting antsy and frustrated now. The darned scale isn't moving or budging at all!!! I hardly ate anything yesterday. Here's what I had:

Breakfast:
Protein drink - Muscle Milk Light - 100 calories
One Kiwi
Decaf Coffee

Lunch:
1 Papaya
1 cup chicken noodle soup

Snack:
Protein bar 210 calories
Protein Drink - Muscle Milk Light - 100 calories

DInner:
Veggies and one beef jerkey

Snack:
Animal crackers (4) Don't normally eat the carby stuff but I was sharing with my little girl so I had to.  :)

That is it. I tried to eat less so that I would see ... SOMETHING but nothing changed. 'sigh'  grrr...
I know my calorie intake was low. I did have milk in my decaf probably amounting to about 200 calories or so. so i know it was around 1000 for the day or around there. I think the fruit did me in a bit lately. I've been eating alot of fruit and I think my body is just locking onto that extra sugar. I think you're right maureen!! I'm going to do a day of protein and skip the fruit. I've been eating alot of yogurt lately. But can't imagine that hindering anything since its lite and only 45 calories each container. I think it's the fruit. I really do. That and exactly what you said...that my body is just wondering whats going on. I gotta kick start it again. Today will be a protein day! :)  Thanks for the support guys!!! ((HUGS!!))

Great job!! Something to think about some of that fruit has lots of sugar in it & might be
keeping you at that plateau. How much sugar does that muscle light protein drink have
in it. Might not be the best choice. I know you are on the run so you like the pre-made ones, but, I am not sure they are calorie or sugar free. Just thinking out loud here, not
a lot a room to talk as I have gained this week after losing 25 lbs since february & now
up 6 according to the Doc's scale. I took water pill today & hopefully will pee out most of the re-gain. It got real hot here this week so am blaming it on that & not what I have
eaten, which is not much. Too much coffee & not enough water, but, so what else is
new with me.
I bet you start losing agin next week & see a big loss. soon.

I think its the fruit.  Its very sugary especially the papaya! sooo juicy and sweet. The muscle milk doesnt have any sugar in it... the light i mean. The other only has 7 grams. in a huge one. Its one of the lower sugar protein drinks. I lost while drinking the higher calorie protein drink. When i switched to the muscle milk light which has less caloires and less sugar i plateaued... BUT i upped my fruit. So im thinking its the fruit. I'm still STUCK STUCK STUCK! its bugging me out. 'sigh' i took a water pill too... yesterday but nothing. So must not be that. lol... ah well... i'll have to wait it out I suppose and up my exercise a little more. I'm praying I start loosing again. If not I'll have to go drastic one day an ddo only liquid. I hate those days! that may kick start it back up. I hope!!! you hang in there too! I'm here with you! 25 pounds is sooo awesome! we can keep on going too! ((Hugs!!!))

So how are you doing? I am determined to get back in the 150s - it's been quite a while now that I've fluctuated between 160-165, and when I saw that 165, I grew terrified. Remembering about 20 years ago when I had lost a lot of weight and a very traumatic emotional event sent me diving back into the food and I went from 150 to 200 almost overnight. I will not let that happen again. Let's do this - let's really focus our energy on the fact that it's late spring, the weather is gorgeous (finally) and the priority must be physical movement. Every day. Doing something for a little half-hour that is enjoyable physical activity - we don't even have to call it exercise! Just moving in a manner that provides pleasure while breaking a good and healthy sweat!! So please post an update - how are you? Love, Maureen
