Not me but lately I've been thinking about a tummy tuck. I've not had it doen earlier due to money. my insurance won't cover it and I've not had the extra to put into that. I've saved alittle bit which is what has me thinking more about it. that plus i've gained 15 - 20 pounds since my lowest and I keep thinking if I had the tummy tuck maybe i'd get to wear some of my smaller sizes again!
Reenie has had some work done she would be perfect to talk to. she's very good at doing her research and is a wealth of information. I've not seen her on in a while. I'm not sure if she is away right now or very busy.
good luck in your decison!

I had my arms done.  The scar runs from my armpit down past my elbows and is very thin now.  There's sort of a strange pucker below my elbow, but to avoid that, the doctor would have had to cut me all the way to my wrists.  As it was, he cut  chunk of skin 8 inches wide from each arm.  I can't say that my arms are beautiful, but they are smaller and my clothes fit better.  I had a lot of swelling for about  year.  I still remember the delicious feeling of sticking my sleeveless arm out the window on a beautiful spring night soon after surgery.  It was the first time I'd gone sleeveless since I was a kid.

I haven't had my legs done, but wish that I did it a couple of years ago.  I just didn't feel like facing another surgery at the time.

Hi Rhen, I'm so sorry for the delay in responding to this. It's good to see you - always is. Do you mean, how was it in terms of pain and recovery? Or how were the results? Let's see - I had three separate reconstructive surgeries: 1, tummy tuck/abdominoplasty; 2. breasts and arms done at the same time; 3. lower body lift.  In all cases, my insurance paid for everything, although I had to appeal for the LBL. I'm still grateful that my tummy is relatively flat and firm. My arms are just as Connie describes - long scars, mostly faded, a pouch at the elbows. I am happiest with having had my breasts lifted, although they certainly have lost some of that lift 3 years later! I was supposed to hae the skin from my thighs removed at the time of the LBL but the surgeon didn't do it - he was supposed to but when he showed up for surgery he said no, that was not the case. I was furious because my thighs are horrible - and worse now. Why am I gaining most of the weight in my thighs? I hate it... anyway, he did a mediocore job on the LBL and got paid almost $80K from my insurance company. My butt has plenty of sag, my 15 year old says he's embarrassed to see me in my jeans. I tell him tough - if he can't feel proud of me, he should keep his mouth and negative thoughts to himself. Pain was manageable all around for all surgeries. I really wish I could get the skin taken off my thighs - it is quite embarrassing, I can't wear shorts. It's all hanging past my knees. It is what it is. I hope this helps. Let me know what else you'd like to know. Maureen
