5 Years After...
5 Years.....half a decade.....seems like forever ago.....seems like only yesterday.
Well gang.... Here's the state of the Mikey address 2 days late:
For the most part, life is good. I've had my ups and downs but I'm still here and my health is pretty damn good. I'm not so sure that I would be able to say that had I not had the surgery when I did. I think that simple thought sums it all up rather nicely. I had planned to give a long-winded report on Mike World, but the bottom line is that I'm healthy enough to have a busy, crazy, hectic life full of joy and sorrow. Sounds kind of normal doesn't it?? That in itself hit me between the eyes when I took the time to think about it. I'm leading a reasonably normal life rather than wondering when my heart was going to give out or some other obesity-related catastrophe was going to strike. Things are not perfect, and I would like to shed some of the weight that I put back on, but I'm so far ahead of 2004, that I can't even describe it. Like the rest of you, I have my good food days and my bad food days. As a co-worker puts it (with apologies to Marilyn, ) "Sometimes you get the bear.......Sometimes the bear gets you"!! Anyway, dear Marchers Happy Anniversary to all of us and here's to a happy and healthy YEAR 6!!!
Cheers
Mike
