Back and Forth with the Same 5-8 lbs

Since I lost my first 85lbs I have not been able to lose the remaining 15lbs.  My body is selfish!  I am happy  that the 85lbs hasn't  come back.  I have had some problems associated with not eating often enough, more mini meals with protein.  I have blacked out and hit my head on the way down. (two times now)  My family doctor didn't believe that my not eating either time had any thing to do with it and subjected me to all sorts of tests.  I'm okay.  Just need to eat.

Wow, Cindy it's been a long, long time! Weren't you on the Board quite a bit in the early days? At any rate, WELCOME HOME! You're in good and warm company, we're all in this together. I just visited your profile page and I'll join you in that commitment to get 10 lbs. off! I'm really balanced in my life - good eating habits, good level of physical activity - except I am absolutely, certifiably addicted to chocolate, particularly M&Ms. It's the damndest thing - so I really understand your frustration in not getting where you want to be. As for the blacking out, if your doctor won't listen to you, he/she doesn't have a clue about post-WLS consequences to the physiological system and you have one of two choices: educate your doctor (you have to be VERY pro-active in your own research and self-care); or find a new, better informed doctor! There are people on this board who are going through similar problems - I've come very close to blacking out a couple of times, it's always related to blood sugar issues, extreme and surging highs and lows - and I think this is true for most of us. You really have to regulate your blood sugar by making sure you don't go too long between meals, and being very careful about what you eat - the more highly refined carbs and sugars you eat, the more your blood sugar is going to roller-coaster in very dangerous ways. In a way, the best thing for us to do is to treat ourselves as if we are diabetic, it's that serious. Catch us up - what exactly is going on, what were the cir****tances when you blacked out; give us a "day in the life" of Cindy C.! Maureen

Basicly I didn't eat all day - coffee, tea and a protein coffee from Starbucks, grandkids to daycare, to work then I went to class got home about 10:30 pm - sat down felt sick to my stomach and hungry went to the kitchen to grab a quick sandwiche, I believe I ate it too fast, brushed my teeth, showered, felt nauseous.  Wrapped in a towel walked to the kitchen to grab something else to eat.  Woke up on the floor - shaking and wet.

About the same next time but my husband was home a saw me in the bathroom on the floor shaking and my tongue rolled back.  So this time I was forced to call the doctor.  Well not really forced, but asked to - repeatedly!

Yes, we must be careful what we eat and drink.  I ALWAYS learn the hard way.  OUCH, and my goodness my head and chest hurt for about a month the second time.

Thank you Maureen.
