Ooooops.......so sorry!
Hi all;
Sorry for the disappearing act. I'm still alive and well. Life is very busy but generally good. I've been working insane hours, but the overtime helps with 2 kids in college (my older daughter went back for her master's degree), I can use the extra money (who can't with $4 per gallon gas). As far as my weight issues are concerned: The bad news is I haven't lost the weight I gained last winter. The good news is I haven't added any more to go along with it. Even though I'm not where I would like to be in a perfect world........I've accepted the fact that it is not a perfect world and I'm still miles ahead of where I was 4 1/2 years ago (God, has it really been that long?)!!!! I have been spending what free time I have in my kayak this summer and what a joy that is!! Whenever I get down on myself for not achieving my desired weight, I remind myself that 4 1/2 years ago, I couldn't fit in my kayak without a large shoehorn and a tub of Vaseline!! Anyway dear "Marchers", I just wanted to let you know that I'm still here and thinking of all of you.
Be well, my friends.....

Hello Old Friend!!! I too have spent some time in my kayak and there is hardly anything more peaceful than being out on the water like that, right? Ah, Mike, so good to hear from you. Yes, it's very hard to believe how much time has gone by. We should definitely plan to get together at one of the SG meetings - it would be so great to visit in person. Can we make a plan to do that this fall? Take care, I'm so, so glad you popped in to say hello. We've ALL missed you terribly! Maureen
Hey Elizabeth!
It's great to see you back on the board!! Yeah......kayaking has become my escape from the craziness......It's my new "drug of choice".....just kidding, but it's a decent upper body workout and a great way to relax. As for the extra pounds, I just need to keep it from mushrooming and remind myself that I'm still miles ahead of where I was in "04!! Be well kiddo....it's good to hear from you.

Hey Mike, inquiring minds want to know - did you see Aranow for your 4 year check-in? Do you maintain any ties with the hospital at all? I haven't been to a SG meeting in a very long time but I'm thinking I need to get my butt back to one - what are your thoughts about this? And by the way, what is your daughter pursuing in grad school (her major, not in terms of testosterone!) Maureen
Well, inquiring mind.......I did not see Aranow for the 4 year check-in. Frankly,he really rather pi**ed me off at the 3 year check-in. He seemed a lot more interested in getting me in to see (and pay) for his latest nutritionist than in my well-being. He also seems to be pushing plastic surgery etc. more than I want to hear. I've decided that maybe I'm being foolish in that I should at least do the WLS-related bloodwork and let him go over it and just ignore his sales pitches. As a result, I've decided that I'll probably see him for my 5 year followup in March. I should start going to SG meetings again.......maybe this fall.
As for my daughter Elizabeth, She has been debating with herself for years about becoming a teacher.She got a basic Liberal Arts degree and decided to go back for a Master's degree in education. She finally decided after a year in the workforce that she really did want to teach!! She's a hard worker; is very creative; and is great with kids, so I think she made the right choice. Let's hope!! Be well, my friend.
