one and done...for now

Well, I WAS doing rather well....that is until I got the call that my daughter was involved in an auto accident. I raced home, she's ok, car's a mess and the police and paperwork and insurance is a total nightmare. No one, but NO ONE believes in making anything easy for anyone. The poor kid was driving to work and some idiot ran a stop sign. Not my daughter's fault at all. The idiot collects his ticket from the cop, gets in his honking gas guzzling SUV and goes on his merry way. The cop comes to my daughter's work and belittles her in front of everyone because she moved the car to the side of the road. Won't let us call AAA, has to have the 'police department's' tow truck tow it to a garage 15 miles from my house....and then charges me $160. So...after all was said and done...we went out to eat. I had only a protein shake all day, then dinner. My new start date is next monday, but I am going to curb my carbs and sugar consumption this week and see how I make out. My butt is kicked to the curb..... Joanie

I am glad she is O.K, too!! I did pretty good today till Dinner & then had a taco without the tortilla. Just the inside stuff. So I guess I am on the modified version of this. lst day without sugar & no carbs. All protein when I did eat. So I should be o.k. Ladybug marilyn

Take a deep breath and to hell with anything other than the fact that she is ok! Thank God for that. As for the rest of it, life has been reduced to a daily ritual of putting out one fire after another and the process is exhausting and at time torturous. All we can do is get up each day and keep going - and eek out whatever happiness we can find in the moments of whatever spins our wheels. This too shall pass, my friend. Be well. Love ya, Maureen

oh Joanie I am so glad your daughter is OK! gee that police officer sounds really happy in his work is that common to have to have the car towed by a department tow truck?? when my husband had his accident on the highway a tow truck was called by the officer but they asked if I wanted some other company. hope everything becomes smooth now withthe insurance and all that comes with an accident! nic

Hi Joanie, So glad she is ok. That cop was a jerk. Honestly, people need to direct their attention on the people that actually was in the wrong... but you know what... thats too much like right. they would rather target the innocent "easier to handle" people that have to put forth the extra effort to reign in the ones that actually are in the wrong. 'sigh' No big about the food... just start anew! thats all we can do anyway. Elizabeth M
