Day 3 for me

Well... I didn't do too bad. I didn't do completely all liquids though. I just couldn't do it. BUT i did mushy foods. I oopsed on corn again. I just have this corn weakness. I figured it wasn't too bad. Anyways I lost 2 pounds. Which is good. I'm going to keep doing mushy slash some protein until I loose this weight. I'll allow some sugar now and again, but I am just in love with those jello sf puddings! Yum! YUM YUM! and no sugar! I had this hunger thing last night and my husband made blueberry waffles. I turned them down!!!!! and they were all buttery and syrupy. Man that was hard!!! But im doing NO carbs. Actually I should say NO BREAD, NO PASTA, NO PRETZLES OR CHIPS OR CRACKERS OR DORITOS OR ANY CARBY SNACK. only protein bars or milk, things of that nature. Maureen, don't worry so much about the m&ms. Just if you oops and have a few make it only once. Or take only like 5 if you know you'll hit it later to get more. I'll be honest I ooopsed too on a little mini dixie cup of ice cream. You know the little kid sized ones? but still lost 2 lbs. I think we can't make ourselves out to be perfect. But have to be angry enough that if we slip its only once and not everyday. Don't beat yourself up because it will only cause more stress and we'll want to eat more. Just bru**** off the shoulder and set your mind to not doing it again for a whole day and if you do only once. hang in there!!! I know its hard. boy do i know. I'm not even near goal and have SOOOO much to loose. 'sigh' for me...this isnt a 5 day thing its an everyday thing until i get this weight off and even after. I have to get my mind back to the setting it was 3 months out of surger which was...No sugar. No carbs. protein first and foremost! and i swear i gotta work on getting tha****er in more because i know my kidneys need it desperately! ((hugs)) to everyone! Elizabeth M

Hey, Keep an eye on those protein bars you eat, as I thought I was doing a good thing till I found out the ones I was eating had 18 - 20grms sugar in them. I am going back to the atkins bars. They have a lot less sugar. I am down 2.5 lbs today. Not doing the 5 day test, but have given up a lot of the carbs as well. Keep up the good work. Ladybug Marilyn

Oh definitely! Some of those protein bars are terrible!!! My work has the south beach living bars which have 210 calories; 19g of protein and less than 1 gram of sugar BUT it has 17g sugar alcohol. That use to kill me but now it doesnt bother me. Only if I eat it fast it will. I usually eat half now half later. they are good though. they have an AWESOME apple cinnamon flavored one YUM!!! no sugar. its smaller but sooooo yummy!!! I think we all should be doing the no carb no sugar thing. No carb i mean breads and pasta and carby snacks that are bad for us. I think sugar is the thing that will cause us to fail. I'm not saying don't have a treat once in awhile... for me i have to have something every once in awhile as a reward. but I have to remember that i'm only allowed maybe a dixie cup of ice cream or like 3 spoons and not a cup of it. and also NO CANDY BARS!!! now a little piece of chocolate here and there... somethign SMALL so my body doesnt go nuts with hunger...and if it does then i know i have to cut it out totally for like a week. for me CARBS mess me up BAD like a donught? or chips or even just normal toast!!! that makes me insane with hunger and frankly i dont even like it THAT much... im talking the breads. and also a killer that will totally destroy my weight loss is PASTA! it goes down easy and it messes me up BAD. so no pasta. unless its a teeny tiny bit in soup. thats the only exception i will make. i have to really watch. i gained so much weight and so fast and felt like with little effort, then i realize how much bread and pasta i was eating and was shocked! and upset that i let myself go like that. SO I'm with you on the protein only stuff. i mean of course we have our veggies and our fruit. I'm not a fruit person though because it makes me hungry. But its good for you. we can do this Marilyn!!! Didn't you say you never got under 200? I never did either. I think it was you right? I swear its upsetting isnt it?

Yup, that was Me. my lowest weight was 204 & now 248. Hate it, but working on changing that soon. already down 2.5 lbs this week. Ladybug Marilyn

ME TOO!! my lowest was 204!!! wild. I shot up to 238! we are very similar. I went down 8 from doing the liquid slash mushy food thing for a week a little while ago. Kept that off... did the 5 day pouch last week for only 3 days and lost 2. so teetering at 228. 'sigh' its so hard!!! and it depresses the heck out of me that I'm not under 200 pounds after having this surgery. It just disgusts me sometimes. I try not to get depressed but its hard. Then i kick my chin up and try again. thats all we can do anyways. I'm there with you! Elizabeth M

Elizabeth, Complex carbs aren't entirely evil. Eating a complex carb with a protein will help you stay full longer and help your blood sugar stay on an even keel. Pasta is a killer, but whole wheat pasta is a better alternative. I've been buying whole grain/double fiber bread and it doesn't make me nuts. I'm not a bread person and really don't like to eat it, but I've noticed eating a slice with my protein is helping. I've become a white bigot. No white flour, sugar, pasta, bread, rice... Hugs, C.

That white stuff is bad. you're right. Yeah i like whole wheat pasta but I dont let myself have it, not because its bad, but because for me, ill want MORE pasta, anykind and over do it and then get into the habit of eating it again. Same with multi grain bread. If i have it ill want MORE. and i just cant handle it. Its cold turkey for me or I cant keep control. Know what I mean? Or maybe im just a little nutty.
