OK ALREADY!!!!!!!
so.....I'm interested in the 5 day thing. There may be some dead people in my wake, but I am thinking about trying it.
Questions...
'cream' soups....do they have to be home made? Can I buy Progresso Split Pea soup? or cream of chicken or something?? I am not sure I'm going to be a happy camper through this, but you guys seem to be doing ok with it, so it piqued my interest. Since I am only looking to lose about 10 pounds ( and KEEP it off!! ) this may be the answer.
Connie, did it help the poopage issue? That's a concern of mine too. I have a big jar of 100% wey protein from GNC...I always liked that stuff. What else should I get as far as protein shakes are involved?
Any and all input will be appreciated.
Thanks!
Joanie
Hi Joanie....I ate just plain old campbells cream soups...etc...chicken& herb, mushroom, cheese & broccolli...I think you can basically have any type cream soup. As for the protein I use body fortress sold at walmart $13.00 for a big jug. I get the vanilla flavor one and add different flavored extracts so I can mix it up abit. It also uped its protein to 52 gram or 56 grams per 2 scoops so thats pretty good. And the flavor is nice....not chaulky tasting at all. Check out the website for it....5daypouchtest.com alot of good info and a daily plan along with recipes which I found to be VERY easy and quick. Good-Luck!!!
Hey Joanie,
I am sure that the weight I've lost so far is from finally being able to use the bathroom like a normal human being. Being on liquids for a couple of days has helped tremendously. I'm not kidding, I was so blocked that I was throwing up everytime I ate and had a big crap headache. To be honest, I was tempted to stay on the liquids, but I don't think that would have been healthy.
I think the biggest benefit of this 5 day thing, so far, has been to get back into a "pouch mindset". We all talk about eaing normally and I agree that we should not be on diets because that's a recipe for failure, but we're not normal. I can't eat like most people and expect to keep weight off.
I really wasn't that hungry, but I was prepared and tried to head off hunger so I wasn't ravenous at any point. The thing that I liked best was the Split Pea soup in a cup. It was easy and tasty. Next time I do this, and there will be a next time, I'm going to stock up on those. I also used Campbell's cream soups, but found that the pea and bean soups held me over better. The sugar-free puddings were good, but I found some sugar-free tapioca that was even better. It's probably not allowed if I was following this to the letter of the law, but I found it filling.
Breakfast both days was a shake made with whey protein powder, fruit, 2 ounces of pomegranit juice and ice. If I had thought of it, I would have added ground flax seed and yogurt. Don't know why I didn't think of it. I counted calories, just for the heck of it and actually ate more calories than I normally would have, but maybe that's a good thing.
I guess my best advice on this would be to make sure you have everything you need ahead of time and don't let yourself get too hungry.

hi joanie,
i loved this 5 day thing it was great. what surprised me was that i was eating things i thought i never wanted to see again like the protein shakes and jello but now i'm back to loving them.
i counted cals too and for me was surprised that i was eating less than i had been over the past few months. and i was making sure not to let my self feel hunger. so if i got a twinge of wanting food i'm have a diet jello.
the way i read it was that you could have all the diet jello or diet pudding or protein shakes that you wanted. i really didn't go over board cause they did help to satisfy any cravings i had for sweets and they helped fill me up.
i'm goin gto continue counting my cals and using the diet jelly plus i liiked having th eprotein shake for breakfast and plan on continueing that too.
good luck!
