Hope you all have a great 4th. tomorrow
I haven't been on here for a couple of weeks. About a week and a half ago my husband stayed out in the heat too long and dehydrated. His son called me and said he had passed out. I called 911. The EMTs came and gave him 2 quarts of IV fluid and he quit cramping and refused to go to the hospital. My sister goes on the 15 th. to have lithotrispy in her left kidney and get the stint taken out of the right kidney. Hopefully this is going to make her well again!! It's been a stressful time and naturally I ate my way through it. I had gained another pound, but this morning I have lost 2. Yesterday I really did good. Last night when I wanted to eat in the middle of the night
I warmed up some green beans I had left from supper and ate them. It filled me up just as good as a sandwich or ice cream would have !! And I feel good about myself today. So today I'm going to cook more green beans and eat celery and green beans as my midnight snack.
I hope you all have a Happy July 4th. God bless America!! Love ya, Judy
As hungry as I was last week, this week I am hardly eating. We had a luncheon at work today and I only had a few bites of things. Then, when I came home we went out to get something. We had a small salad and a chicken breast sandwich (we split both) but I could not even eat half. With me, I swear it's hormonal.
Tomorrow, OF COURSE, I am having about 20 people over for a cookout. Everyone is bringing stuff, but it is still alot for me, with the prep and cleaning up. My brother in law was here from saturday to today, and now company tomorrow. To be honest about it, I am just plain tired. I want to sleep til noon at least.
Hope your sister feels better, and your husband better be drinking his water when he's out in the sun!
Take care,
Joanie
We are not doing anything special today, if I knew 20 people were coming to my house I would run away!! But I hope you all have a good time. When I was a child
we always went to my Grandparents home for every holiday and nealy every Sunday. They had 7 children and all of them except one lived with in 14 miles of their home.
A lot of times there would be 25 to 30 eat lunch with them. They always acted like they were happy to see us. When I was a teenager they were in their late 60's and early 70's. Some times my grandmother would have to lay down and rest before all of us left. Even though we all carried food it was still hard on her. But those were the best days of my life!! When my grandfather died over thirty years ago , things have not been the same. Now all of my aunts and uncles and grandparents are gone. I can only imagine what a reunion will we have one of these days. I bet it will be like the forth of July, It will be a great celebration! So today as you are having your friends and family at your house, I want to think about all the wonderful memories you are making!! Have a great day. Judy
here is a note...
in case you didn't know...
fireflies can lie in the jar with holes in the top for a day!
fireflies CANNOT live in the bottom drawer of a little girls jewelry box over night so that the little girl can use them as nitelights the next night!! :-0
AND when little girl discovers this she will be NEARLY hysterical and MAMA will have no idea what in the hell she is talking aobut until little girl shows MAMA fire fly corpses.
in the middle of the night MAMA will wonder what is in OTHER drawers in little girls room and be completely grossed out!!!
is it a wonder I had a seizure??? it is peaceful when you brain miss fires UGH!!!
nic
Yep, fireflies in mayo jars with holes poked in the top. We'd roll up pieces of paper like a cigarette and leave the little firefly butts sticking out the end to look like a lit cigarette. Hard to beat summer evenings in Jacksonville, Illinois when you're eight years old. Fighting over the can of RediWhip with Grandpa and helping Grandma snap green beans.
