i feel old
My oldest son will be 33 in two weeks. My daughter will be 31 in october and my baby will be turning 29 next week.
I feel your oldness and understand! But we are not old! We are young in our hearts!
I am seeing the nicest man. He is 2 years older than me. Sometimes when we are out dancing (thats rock and roll!) we are laughing and having such a blast. There are young people who come up to us and tell us that they wished they could dance like we do and hope that they are out there on the dance floor when they are our age.
It makes us smile.
This past week when we got back at 2am from dancing all saturday night. We talked about how we feel like teenagers. Then in the morning we both were discussing how those young people should see us getting up with our aches and pains! Oh sure while we are out there jumping and swinging our hips we do not think about how its gonna be sore in the morning hahahaah
One morning Glenn was moving very slow to the bathroom. For some reason my hips weren't as bad and I jumped up and was skipping around him in circles. Laughing and saying wanna race to the bathroom? I'm gonna beat you there! Thats right when I slammed into the wall and he skimmed right around me and beat ME to the bathroom! I will never live that one down! hahaha
Enjoy Life, Laugh, Love, have fun we are here for such a short time lets all live it the best that we can.
God bless, pam

Here's a hug, babycakes. Speaking of which, you don't have to miss birthday cake, Margo. You can have a very small piece if you can handle it, if it doesn't trigger a binge or wanting to eat the whole thing. Another option is to get a small little sugar free cake so that you can enjoy that while everyone else is having the regular birthday cake - no one needs to know, they look just the same. The point is, the more we continue to feel like we're "different" from the rest of the world, the less likely we'll be able to live "normal" including the way we eat - whatever that means in this culture to eat normally! I know what you mean about feeling old, honey. What you're feeling right now are very strong feelings of LOSS. Loss of youth, loss of your children (leaving you, growing up, living their own lives), loss of your life's purpose - the best thing you can do for yourself right now is live FOR yourself right now. Back to Connie: what fills you up? What spins your wheels? What floats your boat? Now go out and do it! Be well, Margo. Love, Maureen
Your not getting older, you're getting better. My oldest is 23 and youngest is 19. But I agree with Reenie. You can eat whatever anyone else is eating, only in smaller amounts. I feel the more we isolate ourselves from the main stream, the more we feel we don't 'fit in'. Have one or 2 bites and celebrate!
I may be getting older, but I still shop at the Gap and Old Navy. No reason for me to buy old lady clothes.
Take care and have FUN!
