Day two!

Ok... long winded here... so last night I had a piece of pizza and two small chicken strips. I caved. I was dead set on having my soup and thats it, until I got home and found I had NO soup!!! Then my husband wanted papa johns and there was no hope after that! Especially when I smelled it once it came in the door. BUT I only had one small slice and 2 small chicken pieces. SO not bad!!! I'm hanging onto the eat only when hungry idea. I realized that in the morning, I'm not really hungry at all. It's all habit! I'm a habitual eater. I don't eat when I'm upset. I clean nervously when I'm upset. My stomach is too upset to eat... My problem lies in the habitual boredome eating. Is that a real term??? So yes, I am a habit eater. I guess aren't we all though in one way or another. Every day I sit at my desk. I go down to the cafeteria, I have my two sausage links. So after doing that every day. It became a habit to "go down to the cafeteria and have something" bring it back to my desk and eat it. I'm not even that hungry in the morning. But not going down to get my food is so werid to me that its a struggle. I know...pick somethign healthier... but even if i do...once i eat in the morning...it sets me off to eat more later on. Dont know why. Make sense? Honestly, the process of going down to get food, sitting, eating is all habit more than it is that I am hungry. Cause, 9 times out of 10 I'm not! I normally don't get hungry till around 12:00 sometimes a little later. At home, I usually don't eat till like 12:00 or after. I make the family breakfast but I'm not that interested in eating really. I only do it (out of habit) at work. Just wondered if anyone else has these quirky habit things? Another bad habit is needing that "snack" after dinner. I'm not hungry. But My husband and I always have a late snack and its always for chocolate or something sweet. And no... a healthy choice just wouldn't cut it. Not one bit. So there is no replacing the sweet with something healthy, because in all honesty, I'm not really hungry to begin with! So eliminating it totally is the answer. On the right track with eating only when hungry.... I think that will be my biggest hurdle!!! (Might be here awhile Maureen!) Elizabeth M

Hey, I'll dance on the tabletop nekid as a j-bird if it will keep you hanging around! Your posts just make me smile, no matter what. So, like I said, these food guidelines seem really easy until I start applying them. I just couldn't do it today. I am in a stinkin' rut with my eating, just grazing on garbage all day long, and it's been several months since I've been able to go a day without eating crap. And I've let my exercise program go - just plain not where I was a year ago, all fired up about my newfound health, my new body, my new life - not any more. I've just lost my pep! But like you say, darlin', tomorrow is another day. I can only hope it will be better than today! Love ya, Maureen
