Ok dokey its been a week of trying very hard to not eat inbetween meals AND to quitting having coffee. The coffee its been 2 weeks now without even a sip! I've saved 60 bucks in that 2 week period of not drinking coffee cause I've put the money I always used each week into my savings account! I've always been conservative. To think I have spend so much on coffee makes me alittle sick to my stomach! But hopefully I will continue. The end of this week I missed it very much. Actually on friday I was looking for a way to justify having just one cup from Dunkin Donuts! I even offered to stop and pick some up for my customer! We all know that the real reason I offered to do that was I WANTED A CUP! But my customer is NOT a coffee drinker! Little does she know she saved me and kept me on my new path of a non-coffee drinker. THe odd thing is I feel better not having coffee. Even though I get decaf there is still alittle bit of caffeine in it. So it would bother my heart palpitations sometimes. One thing I find very odd is that my low blood sugar has been very good. No episodes of not feeling right or feeling like I"m goign to keel over. I always get it sugar free but I'm thinking maybe the cream that I used was bothering my blood sugar. THis week I started trying very hard not to eat in between meals. That was harder than the no coffee. For the 5 days that I tried there was only maybe 2 that I did it. Then I felt so hungry by the time I'd get home from work it was constant grasing until my supper was done. So, I had to adjust to having things almsot ready to eat for when I got home. I would come home pop a lean cuinese in the micro take the dog out then change my clothes then supper was done! That saved me. I stocked up on frozen meals on grocery day. I also decided that since I really cna't eat that much at my meals time that I went for the things I wanted at breakfast, lunch, and dinner time instead of the things I thought I should eat. Which ment if I wanted to have oatmeal for lunch I'd eat it along with some jello & crackers. For breakfast I'd have maybe an egg WITH 1/2 a bagel or muffin. I did go to whole wheat. Normally I'd be thinking NO just the egg nothing else and try to make that last until lunch. It wouldnt' be enough and I'd be starving by 10 so thats when I would eat something else. This seemed to help me alittle bit. I guess its all trial and error until we find what works for us. I really do feel successful this weekend from working very hard over the past 2 weeks of making some adjustments to being healthier. I also have been doing some major walking 3 to 4 times a week. If I never make it down (sob) to my lowest weight and clothing size at least I'm doing good healthy things for me. Hey I should complain? I"m still thinner than I've ever been my whole life and I am Normal sized! I look around and I fit in. I'm wearing size 10 & 12. I feel good. I look nice. Life is good.

Good for you!! I hope this will work for you. I still have not figured out what will work for me. I try so hard, but so far I'm still not doing what I should. I joined a gym in Dec. Paid over $600.00 for my husband and me for a year. It is new and it's right across the road in front of my house, you'd think I would go and I do every once in a while. It's my own fault because my husband will go any time I want to. He's wonderful and will eat what I fix and I have no excuse for what I'm doing to myself!! Maybe I'll do better this summer while school is out and I will only have my to think about. Have a good weekend . Judy

The first time I tried the no eating in between thing, I was so hungry by lunch, I ate too fast and actually dumped it all! As time went on, however, I adjusted my breakfast to be a little more substantial and I started eating it a little later. Monday, Wednesday and Friday are my gym mornings before work, so I just have coffee (sorry!) in the morning before the gym, and pick up an egg sandwich on my way from the gym to work. I usually get egg whites and turkey sausage on a whole grain english muffin, but I only eat half of the muffin. Lunch is usually a sandwich of some kind on multi grain weigh****chers bread and a couple of pickles. I do sometimes eat between, but I have cut back. Sometimes I would eat a South Beach high protein cereal bar in between lunch and dinner, but not I try not to. If I do, I may eat half. Instead of doing it 'cold turkey' I am trying to wean my way off of inbetween snacking. And to quote you....I'm normal sized....between an 8 and a 10....I feel good...I look good....life is good! Take care! Joanie

Thank you both for replying to my posting! THis is hard to do but isn't anything hard worth working for? Today was the first time I had a cup of coffee in two weeks. I'd been craving it so badly that I decided while doing my grocery shopping to treat myself to a medium. I enjoyed that coffee it tasted good but it did not give me the pleasure that I thought it would. Isn't it odd that something I'd been thinking and craving when I finally had it didn't give me the humph I thought it would??? I was drooling when I walked up to the dunkin donuts booth for tht cup of coffee! Now I think in a way it helped me to realize coffee's not all that much to write home about! I don't feel tempted now at all and think that tomorrow morning I will remind myself how I was kinda disapointed! Today was another day of not eating in between meals this is starting to be alittle easier. On to week number 3!
