Today
Good morning, friends. I've started my day with a different routine; rather than slugging down my protein shake unconciously as I commute to work, I made an egg on a lite english muffin and brought it to work with me - just finished it, was pretty good...better to start off with something solid and a bit later in the a.m. Perhaps now I can get through the morning and up to lunch without being so hungry. I'm going to commit to the three meals a day with nothing inbetween today - haven't been able to do it yet but I really want to take Connie's lead on this as I think she's really onto something with the Metabolic Hunger theory. So let me post my day's worth of eating, and I invite anyone else to join me! BREAKFAST: lite english muffin with 1 egg, 2 cups coffee. LUNCH: green salad with 2 oz. smoked turkey, 1 oz. sharp cheaddar cheese, 1 hard boiled egg and balsamic vinagerette, 1 SF pudding; Dinner is a tough call because I have to go straight to the barn after work. I think I'll stop and pick up a Zone protein bar and an apple. Then I'm done eating for the day! Estimated calories for the day: between 850-1,000 (if anyone can give me a more accurate estimate, I would be grateful!) Otherwise, I will drink all my liquids and get in a good hour workout on my lunch hour. WHAT ABOUT YOU??? Have a great day, all. Maureen
OK, Ms. Maureen. I applaud your breakfast heartily. Where is your complex carb for lunch and dinner? I don't think you're getting in enough calories.
I'm proud of you for starting the 3 meals routine. I'm finding it easier and easier to stick to the three meals. When I get hungry between meals, I visualize my pouch as a furnace burning up fat stores and know that I will shut it down if I eat. I was at a conference today and made it through with no problem. I ate a breakfast of scrambled eggs with cheese and ham and a slice of multi grain toast. I haven't been worrying about fats and have been using butter on my toast and to cook my eggs. If I stop losing, I'll see about cutting back on the fats. Anyway, got to the conference at the Hyatt and there was quite a spread of bagels, muffins, danish, coffee and tea. I had my coffee and called it good. Made it to lunch and had salad, some chicken breast, 1/2 wheat berry roll and a little mashed potatoes. I was waiting for dessert, but it was held for 2:00 so I didn't get dessert. At 4:00 they had a ****tail hour and appetizers, but I passed that by because I wasn't that hungry and knew if I ate then, I'd be starving later. Believe it or not, I was runnng around, not hungry at all and didn't eat dinner until 10:00 pm.
This is getting easier and easier. Hang in there and you'll have this down to a science in no time.
Hugs,
Connie
