What is your Bad Vice and addiction?
As I was reading other post, I know some of you think your vice/addition is eating again. I was telling my husband that I wanted to do this question. He agreed with me, I have become obessive with eating ice. The crunching is driving him
I guess it all started with the wls surgery because that was one way I could get my fluid intake. Then when I got back to work, they had the soft ice in our breakroom and also in the coffee areas with filtered water.
Since we have moved to Georgia and neither one of us is working, it seems I am crunching ice all of the time. I know it is bad for my teeth. I think my soulution is to buy an ice machine
Martha,
Home Depot has a couple of ice crushers that might be a little easier on your teeth.

Have you had your iron levels checked? There is a high correlation with women who eat ice and women who are anemic. Strange but true.
You've given me a great idea for the summer. I have a Margarita machine that shaves the ice and then dumps it into a blender to mix with juices or drink mixes or whatever. I use it to make slushies out of juices and berries for my nieces and nephews most of the time, but think I'm going to go get some sugar free syrups and make slushies for myself.
My addiction is to MORE. More food, more toys, more travel, more projects, more, more, more. I'm not original with that, someone I was talking to this morning said it, but it was true for me. I'm not addicted to any one thing like olives or cheese spread or M&Ms or Twinkies or chips. I'm just addicted to More of whatever I started out with. My issue is with being able to set limits for myself.
Hugs,
Connie
Yes, I get my levels checked every 3-4 months and I am anemic. So far I take extra iron and am supposed to drink wine to help. But as I am not a drinker...I keep forgetting to drink the wine at night. Someone suggested I drink a glass when I am cooking dinner...but I keep forgetting. I just requested Alton to go pour me a glass. He can probably help remind me. I guess I am cooking dinner right now as we are having casserole night at church so I am cooking early. I am making apple crunch desset, Vadalia Onion casserole and a Beef Potatoe casserole to take.
Maybe I will go to Home Depot and check out the ice cruncher machines.
cookies.
my bad vice and addiction is cookies.
i love them.
in fact i had bought a bag of chocolate animal crackers that i had totally forgotten was in the cupboard. Well guess what? my son found them and had some when he stopped by soemtime this afternoon! he left the opened bag in the microwave which I found when I was starving and rushing to pop my lean cusine in to cook it while i took the dog out.
today i had been good all day. needless to sday the open bag of chocolate animal crackers was like white powder to a cocaine addict. i grabbed a handfull and had eaten them in seconds while i opened the lean cuisine. thank god 1/2 way into the 2nd handful i realized what i was doing and dumped the bag into the trash.
i felt terrible and am tryin very hard to congratulate myself with throwing them away before a 3rd handful that would have led to the whole bag.
whew.
cookies my bad vice and addiction is cookies.
Again...me being me and the freak that I am.....my addiction is....olives and pickles. I had 3 kosher dill pickles for breakfast this morning. I hid in my office and ate them because I'm embarrassed that someone would see me eating them at 9:00am. Green olives---by themselves or stuffed with garlic, cheese or almonds. When I make my weekly trip to the olive bar at the market, I only throw a few of the cheese stuffed ones in. I know the salt must be killing me. Connie, if it means I am missing a vitamin or something, let me know.
Joanie
This is really getting some interesting comments:
I did not know animal crackers came in chocolate. I will need to find them...
Joanie, I can see you hiding in your office eating the dills. When we were in Gatlinburg last week, someone bought the greek olives and cheese as part of our night time snack. I had gone by the display several times and thought about scooping some up in a bowl but never did. It was nice to see someone else did not stop the urge. I must say that tasted delightful and we all had some when we ate our late dinner.

honestly, i don't really have any food addictions anymore. ...unless you count pepsi. ;) seriously though, i've replaced my old food addiction with something a lot more serious. i went through a really hard time, and to cope with things, i began cutting. and yes, i've gotten (and am still getting) help. things have just been really hard on me. *sigh*
