Casino

So today I am meeting my mother at the casino in Atlantic City. She told me the buffet is CLOSED at her favorite place, only opened on the weekends. I WAS THRILLED TO HEAR THIS NEWS!!! I remember a time when I could not wait to get to the buffet and stuff myself silly (before WLS). At this point, I dreaded it for fear of over eating. Now we are eating lunch in the regular restaurant, so I can get my salad or half of sandwich and be done with it. YAY! Joanie

I'm also not a fan of buffets, but I never have been. The food is usually not that great and you get that mind set of having to get your money's worth. The Man loves buffets and I dread going with him because I get a meal that I don't enjoy and I cringe when I see what he eats because he's got weight, cholesterol and BP issues. I'm slowly getting him to split meals with me. I don't think he's thrilled about it, but he does it for me. Have a great time with your mom. Hugs, Connie

I know what you mean, Connie. The chinese buffets actually make me nauseous to look at them. But my mom's favorite place happens to have an amazing buffet. I went with my 'The Man' and I almost fell asleep waiting for him to get done eating. I am also not a big gambler, I kinda watch mom do her slot machine thing. I had a cup of vegetable beef soup and half a tuna sandwich. Ate a quarter of the soup, no crackers and the inside of the tuna sandwich. I was SO thankful that buffet was closed. It used to be open every day of the year, but I guess people are putting their gambling money in their gas tanks these days. The place was deserted. Take care! Joanie
