this and that - Thyroid? huh???
So I've had a pain in my side for 3 weeks. Nothing major but it was aggravating. I made an appointment with my GP. Of course three days before the appointment the pain stops! But hey I had a few minor issues that I needed to talk toher about and I have beenhaving a big issue with low blood sugar.
WE talked and talked. She wants to do a thyroid test on me because all of the minor issues could be due to a thyroid problem. What I didnt know was that it is heriditary. My daughter was digasnosed 2 months ago and now is on meds. My mother was diagnosed 2 years ago and is on meds. Well I'm right in the middle so who knows I could have something iffy withat that too!
I also need to cut back on my vitamin C that I take every single day. It has helped to create too much acid in me and I am having problems with cold sores. I even have one inside my nose!!! which is extremely Painful!
Constipation....yup could be another symptom of thyroid.
Dry flakey skin to the point where my legs feel like they have dandruff...yup could be a symptom of thryoid. I've had that this whole winter no amount of lotions no matter how strong they are help. My back itches like youwould not believe. I'm surprised I've not taken the skin off with my back scratcher.
there are more things all to me seem minor but you add them all together and its quite an eye opener.
Anyone have any thyroid issues? My GP did say that the surgery doesn't create the problem but with all the plumbing reworking and how i obsorb food now well thats all a big change (DUHHHH)
I'm also going to be seeing Dr A the surgery in the next few weeks.
My mother an sister are coming today. I took a day off to get ready for their arrival. I'm detemined that we all have a nice holiday. so when my new boyfriend comes over I will ignore their comments.
They do not want me to date. Geesh! I'm 55 what do they expect??? I dont' want to be alone for the rest of my life. I'm an adult and wouldn't go out with "bad"boys hahaha and even if I wanted to or did isn't it my life to live? haven't i given everyting to my children and family always 150% isn't it my time now?
I say yes and I'msure that each person *****adds this will agree.
My younger son's girlsfriends family will be joinig us tonight so that they can meet my mom and sister. This is like an unofficial family greeting. My son is planning in June to give her an engagement ring. My mom is in her late 80's and for the most part is healthy but lets face it at her age its a crap shoot. I'd like her to be able to meet this girls family sooner rather than later. Plus my mother just adores the girls 18month old daughter. My mother is worse than I am about wanting grandchildren!
Life is good.
Now if only I could get rid of the extra 20 pounds....
Good luck with your holiday gathering. Just remember to overlook any negative about the new relationship. Been there done that. You are right, it is your time now. Some people have problems being glad for others. Especially if they think it is going to take away your time with them. I went thru that with my sister when I remarried. But it was the best choice I have made. If it was not for my now husband, I would be alone with her not talking to me. Oh well.....Just enjoy and be happy. Do not let them lick the sugar off your candy.......
Hi Pam;
I don't have any input on the thyroid issue, because I'm totally ignorant on the subject. I just wanted to say hi and wish you good luck with the medical and family issues. I'm sure that your family wants you to be happy but sometimes it's hard for them to look beyond their own needs and I'm also sure that your dating poses a threat to their own little status quo. Most people are afraid of change....especially as they get older. I'm sure that these issues will work themselves out with time.
Cheers;
Mike
