Is it true that popcorn stretches out the pouch? I have heard both yes and no. I too am a popcorn eater.

Sharon, I just spent the last 45 minutes searching the net for anything that says popcorn stretches the pouch. I can't find anything that says it does, but I found tons and tons of sites that declare popcorn is Satan's chosen food. Don't know if that's true, but I know I had to give it up because I wasn't getting in enough protein if I was eating popcorn. Connie

Sharon, like Connie, I had to give the stuff up. I was eating a full bag of the microwave lite popcorn every night - by myself. With the popcorn and chocolate I've been eating these past six months, I don't understand why I am not in the 200s again - at the very least. Specific to your question, I've never heard anything about popcorn stretching the pouch. Where'd you hear this? Good to "see" you again! Don't be a stranger - Reenie

Maybe if it pops while it's in your stomach.....no, just kidding. I eat it occassionally because my fiance HATES popcorn and the smell of it. He is the first person I ever met that hates popcorn, but I don't hold it against him. I, too, have never heard that this can cause any damage. Perhaps the kernels are hard to digest? I don't know.... Joanie

The only things I was ever told in the beginning to stay away from it as could get caught in the small opening after the bypass. I did not eat any for 6 months. After that I had no problems & still eat it quite a bit, great filler with low calories if not the buttered stuff. Ladybug Marilyn
