Popcorn?
Is popcorn ok to eat?
Before surgery I use to eat popcorn almost every day. It was a full page of microwave popcorn and I would say to myself. its low calorie! No it wasn't. It was loaded with tons of butter and salt. I've not eaten it maybe more than 2 or 3 times and only tastes of it over the past years since GP but now I have developed a taste for it again. It is filling. I always use the microwave popcorn that is plain no butter or salt and add the spray butter. I measure out a cup and have that.
I'm thinking its ok I'm keepingit in my calories it satisfies the need for crunch taste its filling. and it is within my calories. I'm curious what others think.
This past week was good then over the weekend it went down slightly. I was out on a date with Mr new guy and we went to the casino until 11ish then stopped at burger king. It was late at night normally I'm alsleep by then but that night I have a plain small kids burger with cheese and ate 1/2 the burger no bun. I didn't sleep well it bothered my stomach to eat that late. I won't do that again!
My plan is to try the liquids next week if I can not get myself on track as good as I want to this week.
Pammie,
I don't eat popcorn too much,, but keep the 'small' single serving bags around just in case. I think Orville R now has some of those '100 calorie' type bags too ..
I'm working on getting a grip on things here myself. I have definitely gained about 20 pounds over the last 2 years and I'm having trouble getting myself back on track. I know some of it is related to having more than the 'occasional' glass of wine. I need to reach for my rasberry white tea when I get home from work, not a glass of wine.
Hurt my leg on Dec 29 when I was planning to get back to the gym on a regular basis, so I STILL haven't gotten to the gym, but there's always tomorrow.

Hi There
I was told in the beginning never to eat it as the curnels could get stuck, but, I have been eating popcorn since about
a year out & it has never bothered me. I think it is a whole
lot better than a lot of other things out there & a no sugar
to speak of & yes fiber helps too!! So if you can stop at just
1 cup go for it!!

HI everyone!
I feel so much better that others are eating popcorn too!
Marilyn I was told not to eat popcorn too andhaven't touched it for all these years then I started with one piece it was yummy. I agree theres not alot of calories if you get it plain and I add my own salt an that no calorie butter sprinkle flavoring. I measure it to keep control. I've got to look for those individual serving bags.
