I love the dunkin donuts lo carb bagel. i limit myself to 1/2 of one a day. this morning i'm sitting home waiting for my car's brakes to be completed and decided to go on line to check the calories on it. i figured gee lo carb lo calories its good for me! i'm ONLY eating 1/2 of it how bad can it be? well! that low carb bagel has 45g of carbs! thats ALOT! calories is 380 now the protein is good at 25 g but how good is that protein when the carbs are so much higher? even cutting it in half still makes it a bad choice. so i'm swearing off those lo carb bagels! i'm better off to stick with 1/2 a serving of pretzels for when i need taht kind of taste. today i'm goign to check some other things on line that i should have checked along time ago. i've been so stressed abou****ching calories and carbs not realizing just how bad that one little 1/2 a bagel on a daily basis can be. i'm getting a good education today!

OH MY GOD. I must be the most stuipd dieter in the whole wide world!!! i drink dunkin donuts decaf large coffee 3 times a day. A DAY! i am the most stupidest dieter in the whole wide world because today after all this time of drinking that coffee and thinking i'm doing good staying in my calories drinking lots of fluids they are decaf so thats good right? oh yes the fluid is good but the cream they put into that large decaf coffee is costing me 300 calories a day! YES THATS RIGHT 300 calories a day when i drink a large 3 times a day. i'm giving myself an extra 300 calories. and i'm wondering why i'm not losing??? now i'm adictied to dunkin donuts coffee and have got to work at getting off of it. geesh! and i just got a $25 gift card too. well the best thing i can do for myself is to just say no. get off dunkin. give the card away to someone who doesn't have the issues i have with addictions. you know i remember reading somewhere on here that alot of times people who have had this surgery will find another addiction. shopping, sex, drinking, theres all kinds of addictions. Mine right now and i'm not kidding about this is dunkin donuts coffee. there is no weening off of this i have to quit coffee with cream. i like tea with just one no calorie sweetner no cream. i'm going to research that now before i try to go over to tea!

Pam, here are a couple of different thoughts abut coffee cream: 1) if you use heavy cream, you are looking at virtually 0 carbs. The fat content is obviously high, but if you are just counting carbs, it won't matter. The fat will not trigger the cravings at least. 2) If you want to minimize calories, you can always use skim milk. You still get carbs, but less calories overall, and you can try to use less than usual. 3) My approach is to mix protein mix and SF hot chocolate mix with a small amount of dry creamer and splenda and use it in coffee. It give a cappucino taste, with a few carbs and lots of protein. 4) Decaf tea is always a good idea. Maybe one cup of coffee and then switch to tea? Good luck! Joy

Thank you Joy I am going to try your idea for the cappichino coffee taste it sounds good! In my cupboards I found a container of dry coffee creamer stuff. I use it when I run out of cream and it has way less calories 10 per teaspoon. So using that I'll save a about 70 calories a cup. I like the taste of it. I think what I can do is just substitute that. I like the taste and texture of the cream or cream like powder. I've tried using low fat or skim milk in the coffee and don't care for it. I do use skim milk in my cooking and my cereal but just do not care for it in the coffee. I'm jsut amazed at taking a peek and finding something that will save me calories that I just never thought of. who knew? at least now I know and will be alot more careful. Maybe it will now give me the loss that I've been looking for.

Hello, my name is Connie and I'm a Starbucks junkie. I gave up Starbucks because of the cost. Five bucks a day on my way to work was costing me a hundred bucks a month, 1200 a year. That's insanity. I started making my own version at home. Fat Free Half and Half has 10 calories in a tablespoon and has that rich taste that skim mik doesn't. Torani makes sugar free syrups that are essentially calorie free if you don't drink a ton of it. I like to mix caramel and chocolate. I like to try buying different types of coffee from the stores and experimenting. I don't really like the flavored coffees like hazelnut and vanilla, but I like trying coffees from different regions of the world. Found that coffees from Hawaii are bitter, but I love French and Italian roasts. I just noticed yesterday that the grocery store is selling Dunkin' Donuts coffee now. I'm breaking my carb addiction today with Joy's 3 day carbectomy. I think Reenie's on day 3 and sounds like she's doing well. Hugs, Connie

Yup, Connie I know about that Startbuck's addiction. I am down to 1 a week. From sometimes 2 a day. Yup the expense got to me, as well. I now make mine at home & being that I work & have to look at STarbuck's while I am at the Bakery is not a good thing. When I do buy coffee I just get the regualr coffee )small & add H & H & splenda to it!! Course now they have added more Skinny lattes to keep us hooked, but, I am not buying into that one!! It's the Devil at work!!! Ladybug Marilyn
