Can anyone tell me what the total calories are for this day of eating? Good day, all. Love, Reenie
LOL! I didn't see the candy corn on the meal plan!!! The sugar is SO addictive!
Your calorie count is not a problem (at least on the high side). If you can do more protein and give up the bread, it will help you break the carb addiction. When I get caught in carb quicksand, I have to totally eliminate carbs for a few days until the cravings die down, then add back in some of the complex ones. While I am breaking the carb cycle, I don'****ch calories or fats at all--If bacon and cheese slices satisfy, I do it--For a couple of days. Anything to stay out of the sugar. About the third or fourth day, I start to feel more energetic and less craving. Only then do I restore some balance to what I am eating.
This goes back to my pre-surgery Atkins diet days. It worked for me then, and it still does. Not fun, but possible, and I feel SO much better once my system gets off of burning sugar and onto better fuel sources.
I was doing just that this weekend, when I got hit with a killer cold/sinus infection. That made it so much harder, because it doubled the cravings for comfort food. But after a steroid and antibiotic shot Monday, I am recovering a bit, and getting back on track. I did not cut out carbs as well as I intended, but I did break with sugar, so it is working, just taking longer than it should to feel better.
Addiction is a physical as well as mental issue. You can't deal with it on one front--you have to attack it from both--strong mind, alternate fuel for body. Try cutting carbs and adding a little more fat for a few days.
