Calling MIA's
Hey Y"all:
I'm still around. I'm OK. Things are nuts and I'm very busy. Of the 3 supervisors in my office: One is home recovering from hernia surgery; one is about to retire and is using up vacation time to take care of necessary business; and the other 2 of us are jumping like a one-legged man in an ass-kicking contest!!! I still look in regularly, but don't have much time to post. I'll try to post more if things ever settle down around here.
Hey Connie......100 pairs of shoes??!! I'm going to start calling you "Imelda"!!!! LOL
Cheers
Mike
I'm still here too! I check in every couple of days usually. Been kind of busy like everyone else.
I'm attempting to go back to work after being more or less a stay at home mom for the last 4 years - minus 3 years for my WLS, PS x2, and a host of complications. Prior to that I went back to college after a 20 year absence and finally finished my Bachelor's degree in sociology. Achieving that as a 43 year old morbidly obese woman on a campus with over 20,000 teenagers is something of which I'm very proud.
I was intending to go back to work a year ago but then my husband changed all that by having a heart attack and requiring a quad bypass and a valve repair. I've spent most of the last 11 months trying to push/drag him uphill and back to some type of "normal". I've finally decided that "normal" isn't going to happen in this lifetime so I needed to get on with my plan to go back to work.
I was a career optician for 21 years, managing and eventually owning my own shop. I'm now wadng into the Social Services arena which is a very new experience. I've been at the application and interview process for about 3 months now and am hoping to actually go to my first day of "work" in almost 7 years next week. I'm scared to death and excited at the same time.
Wish me luck.
