Having TT Marc.30th Keep me in Prayers!
Well It here!
I am scared out of my mind in one since, but very excited in another. I know this surgery will be different, but I did pull through 2 c-sections and an open gastric bypass.
To those who have had a TT how does the pain compare to our other surgery. I was really good with my bipass up and walking those halls the same day. Just a little bent over.
Anyway if you guys believe in prayer send one up for me on the morning of the 30th and just as soon as I can get to my computer I will update you guys on how everything went.
Rhen
Hi Rhen,
Try not to focus on the pain level from your TT, but focus more on how wonderful you will feel and look in your clothes when it's all over. I had my TT back in September and I won't kid you, it hurt. Getting in and out of chairs was more uncomfortable than actually walking around and your lower back may start to ache a little as it takes a little while to start standing straight again. The first week was the toughest but I was pretty comfortable just taking the extra strengh tylenol. I stayed away from the percocets because I didn't want to deal with the nausea and constipation that often times comes with that. Your doctor should be able to make the pain tolerable that first week especially.
But I have to tell you, having the TT was the best thing I ever did for myself. After having 5 children and having lost 165 pounds, I had quite a bit of loose skin on my stomach. The doctor removed about 5 pounds of skin with the TT. My clothes fit so much better; I no longer need to buy bigger pants just to fit around my stomach only to have them way too baggy in the legs. I went down two pants sizes.
I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers; let us know how you make out. I know you won't regret it.

Rhen, I'm so happy and excited for you! If you're just having the TT (are you having abdominoplasty as well?) -- you'll be just fine. Take it easy, listen to your body and to your surgeon - this type of surgery is different from the gastric bypass wherein you do not need to -- nor should you -- get up and start walking right away. You don't want to pull your stitches. I can't wait to get your update -- until then, sweetheart, go in with very positive feelings and know that you will feel so much better when that skin is gone! Love to you, Maureen
Rhen, Hindsight from me would be to Not get up and moving to much. I was like you from the wls...walk walk. But with the tummy tuck I think taking it easy is better. I ended up infected and that added to the recovery by weeks. I think I over did it. So lay back and read a good catalog with all the cool small sizes. Good Luck Donna
