Hey look!

http://www.saveosp.org/ I just put up the website a couple weeks ago and it's got nearly 1300 hits already. I will be doing an interview on the local news soon (it's been postponed a couple times, but I'm told it will really happen) and little ol' me is becoming an activist. Just thought I'd share....and ask anyone who knows anyone in Oregon to pass it on...over and over and over again. Dina - who is making this wls related by saying there is no way in HELL that I would ever consider doing a television interview 2 years ago!!!

You know where my heart is on this issue. It kills me that Oregon won't allow you to pump your own gas, but they want to consider getting rid of an LE organization in the midst of all of the issues we are faced with as a country right now. Congrats for taking a stand!

Hey Dina; Excellent website!! It's well thought- out and very informative. You've done a great job. It totally blows my mind that in this day and age, legislators would try to save money by eliminating an entire state police force!!! The short-sightedness is mind- boggling. I hope that sanity prevails and this idea ends up in the trash bin where it belongs!! Good luck! Mike

Thanks everyone! I know it seems ludicrous that the legislature would even consider it, but we are bound with their idiot ideas by the money lining their pockets. The only way to get their attention and get them on the right track is to get the public to understand the problem and hold them accountable. Once they see their job in jeapordy they will likely come to and get serious about this. As for the pumping your own gas thing, Ken, this is NOT a bad thing. They keep telling us our gas prices will go down if we pump our own, but 30 miles down the road into California, gas prices are sky high - much higher than here. I have to say that not getting out of my car in the freezing cold, rain, and 105 degree temps is a very nice thing indeed. Nope, that's why Oregon won't "allow" you to pump your own gas. We know a good thing when we have it, and we're not about to give it up! Dina
