Good Morning Fellow Marchers, I stop in from time to time to catch up with your news but I haven't posted here in a while. Reenie invited me to let you know how I'm doing, so here it is. I'm doing very well. I've been 20 pounds below my dream goal for about 10 months now and am very happy with the results of wls. I'm 5'7" and started at 231. I now weigh 123. I am able to maintain this wt. w/o any problems. I weigh daily and if I go over or under by 3 pounds I adjust my eating to compensate. I am fit and healthy as my labs repeatedly show. My knees are all better!!!!! At age (almost) 59 I feel like 35 and can do all the things I did then. I still like candy and junk food. I still indulge in some of it. I occasionally dump, but not often. Food gets stuck sometimes or just doesn't sit right; particularly dense protein. I have to take 1 Protonix daily for a possible ulcer but as far as I'm concerned these are just minor inconveniences. I've taken up golf and just love being outdoors in the sunshine...active and healthy. Before wls I was quickly becoming an infirm old lady. I used a cane and had to ride in the motorized carts in stores. I had trouble getting up from sofas and chairs, forget sitting on the floor...now I bounce around like a kid. My arms and legs look like the saggy baggy elephant so I don't wear shorts or short sleeved tops but I look great in clothes. I had a face, neck, eyelid ,and brow lift. I've pretty much decided that body plastics are not for me, at my age. Weight loss surgery was one of the best things I ever did for myself. Now a quick update on my husband who is 1 year post op. He has lost about 80 pounds and is healthier in many respects, but he doesn't eat properly and has developed a peripheral neuropathy. He is also still mourning the loss of food. Hopefully he will get better and be happier about having wls. I wish you all well and I thank you for all the support I've received here. OH is a fabulous site and I could not have been so successful without it. Love, Pat/Louise

Pat, so great to hear from you! Drop us a line on your 2-year anniversary date, we're really trying to get some good discussions going to celebrate this milestone. Tell hubby to hang in there, and you know as well as I do...it all starts with the head, not the body! Take care and thanks so much for the great, inspirational update. Maureen
